The final step in the Darwinians’ evolution--war.

Multiwinia, a multiplayer-oriented real-time strategy game from the creators of Darwinia and DEFCON, is available right now on GOG.com for only $4.99.

You probably remember the inhabitants of Darwinia--flat, artificially intelligent polygons who were supposed to build a utopian AI society. Well, they ‘were’. Now, they like to call themselves Mutliwinians, because they’ve divided themselves into tribes that fight over the limited resources of a once-peaceful world.

Multiwinia is all about multiplayer battles--quick, simple, and entertaining. Whether you’re stacked against friends or a computer, there’s plenty of game modes, scenarios, and strategic depth to keep you occupied for days to come. The graphics may be minimalistic (like with all Introversion games) but the gameplay is always set to maximum. It’s a stylistic choice with an aim to never ever have you distracted from the great gameplay. Best of all, you can enjoy the short battles in Multiwinia during your lunch-break or between classes, preferably with friends.

Multiwinia, a simple and entertaining strategic romp, is available for the next 7 days for a mere $4.99.

Visit the Summer Indie Drop promo page to get DEFCON, Uplink, Gemini Rue, and Multiwinia for 50% off until Thursday, July 19 at 06:59 PM EDT.

Licurg: Even so, it's still a good game, and i'm disappointed of how little attention it's getting:( it doesn't even have a review yet :(
I'm still blaming the developers. When I heard of Multiwinia I felt like "oh, cool, now they want more money just so I get multiplayer for their old game that I bought ages ago" and so probably did many others. They should have put more effort into at least making it look like an actual sequel or completely new unrelated game rather than like a standalone update or something. :P
Never tried before. This game looks interesting.

Zeewolf: Tom had always fantasised about building a sales counter that would sit in the corner of the office and tick up whenever we sold a copy of a game. This time around he actually did it .. <snip> .. what was truly amazing about this counter was how little it was actually going up.

Smannesman: That's what you get for spending more time on building a fancy sales gizmo than on your actual product.
You serious? Multiwinia is extremely polished.
I see the quick sanitizing completely broke bold, italic, and underline for the release thread titles, heh.

Good spot!

I suspect a classic case of (all point at each other) "Hold on, weren't you suppose to make sure it was safe?"
