keithdrop: Really disappointed at this. Does this mean Gog will now sale hentai?

deonast: Doubtful, but I can give you some links to go to for your hentai gaming fix if you like?
Sure, by all means. :)

How did I not think of these games? I played IV: Wall of Fire so many times on the SNES!

*runs off to the wishlist*

RayRay13000: I happen to run across older copies of these games (2, 3, and 4 on SNES) at a local game store. Would it be worth it to try these out?
They also got DOS conversions, though the later games were mainly localized for the SNES. Absolutely worth a play, since they formed the basics of grand strategy well before Paradox revived their popularity.

Koei PC games deserve better treatment in general, whether or not they came to DOS.
So when is Artificial Academy 2 going to be released on GOG?

Crosmando: So when is Artificial Academy 2 going to be released on GOG?
When Half-Life comes to GOG.

You mean Half-Life 3, right? :p

Either of these releases is improbable here but, sure, Half-Life 3, if that's your cup of tea. :P

Well, it's been quite a while since I played it (I only rented it, don't actually own it; and even if I did, my SNES kicked the bucket several years ago), and I've mostly only played #4 (I might have played some of the other ones, but don't remember for sure), but I'd say it's worth it if you like strategy games. Like DonRumata1 hinted at, it was a bit like a turn-based precursor to Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings, but taking place in China instead of Europe.

As I recall, each turn was one month, you could do things like spying on cities to get intel on them, try to sabotage another ruler's food supplies, or give food to your people to make them happy. You could search for people, or even capture them as prisoners during battle, and hire them as officers and use them to improve your cities and lead troops (a bit like counselors in CK, but you'd need some for each city rather than a "global" council for your realm). Drafting soldiers made your people unhappy, and they had to be trained unless you wanted them to be stomped in battle.

Battles were turn based. I remember being able to set traps and start fires, and even some officers having abilities to make lightning strikes or change the wind (useful to help fires spread the way to want them to). There was even an option to duel, and officers could do other things, like try to demoralize the enemy troops.

Hopefully I'm not mixing in half-remembered memories from other games in the series, hehe.

Looks like it plays a lot like Onechanbara: BSS on the 360.

Does it have unlockables/collectibles (costumes or trophies or maguffins or anything)? I can tolerate a freakish amount of repetitive button mashing if my inner "completionism whore" is suitably engaged. :)

Harder levels and costumes are unlockable. Beating normal and hard mode will unlock two costumes: a miko outfit and Suzuka's outfit, as well as very hard mode.

I've read on other sites that there is an infernal mode and two other costumes, a school uniform and a hakama, that are supposedly unlockable. I'm not sure what version of the game GOG has, but the Humble Bundle release is 1.0.2.0, and it doesn't appear to have any of these three.
I really enjoyed the game, although a little repetitive, music, sounds and the skills let very excited! The evolution and execution of skills makes the gameplay amazing. The variability of skills makes it very interesting, everything happens in a scenario only, but the agility of the game is addictive. May not have the effects of Oneechanbara but believe it to be a great purchase. If you own a ps2 joypad and a good headset, the game experience is more pleasant.
