There's more than one side to every story.

FEZ, an original and incredibly deep perspective-twisting puzzle-platformer with countless imaginative stages to explore in a incredibly complex, awe-inspiring world, is available on GOG.com, for only $9.99.

Remember the time when everyone thought that the world was flat? Well, Gomez does. In fact, he thought so himself, just until recently--and I mean "flat" as in "two-dimensional". Then all of a sudden our hero was presented with an artifact that proved almost everything he thought he knew about his land wrong. Coincidentally strange reality glitches started to occur all around, and it seems that it's up to Gomez to fix whatever went wrong with the fabric of his universe.

FEZ is an indie puzzle-platformer which took years to make, and looking at the level of its complexity one still has to wonder how was creating such a huge, diverse, and rich gameworld even possible. There's a good chance that you won't even see the half of what the game has to offer on your first playthrough, and even after long hours spent with Gomez you'll still be discovering new elements of the giant multi-layered puzzle that he calls home. The challenge of this game lies not in agile platform-hopping, but in solving elaborate enigmas you encounter on every step. The games unique perspective-rotating mechanics allow for some incredible level design, but not all puzzles you encounter are perspective-based. In fact, the variety of puzzles in FEZ is astounding, and some of them call for taking notes why you play--something that games rarely achieve nowadays. This game, ladies and gentlemen, is one in a million experience. Be sure not to miss it, for whatever cause.

Find out why a fez is actually a thinking-cap and set out to explore one of the most amazing gameworlds ever created in FEZ, for only $9.99 on GOG.com!

One more thing before you go fiddle with the trixelated space-time continuum. Today's game release marks the submission deadline for our pre-order contest, in which you've had the chance to become a proud owner of an actual, physical fez hat. We'll announce the winners soon!

Ganerumo: I'm not going to argue about that for all eternity so I'm going to get my point straight and not discuss it any further.

Phil Fish is a cunt, he's worked on this game alone for a good portion of its development because the other guy working on it left after finding out Phil Fish was a terrible person, the graphic style is straight up ripped off from Cave Story which is a far superior game, the actual game offers no challenge whatsoever and is artsy to the max, and this game would only appeal to naively curious people with 10 dollars to waste, or people who should really rethink what makes and doesn't make a good game. An indie title isn't entitled to be good just because it's indie, and an indie dev isn't entitled to be amazing because he's indie. Phil Fish is a terrible individual who takes no criticism and has an over-sized ego, and he's actively counting on being a dick to sell his game, hoping that bad publicity will make up for the utter lackluster of a game that he took five years to develop.

Adzeth: Could you explain why you're a "reasonable and smart individual" while saying those things about certain types of games and while calling someone a "cunt" and making stuff up about him, but Phil Fish is a "cunt" when he said something about certain types of games and told someone to "choke on his dick"? I'd say the calling people cunts is on par with telling people to choke on your dick. Oh, I know, because "those rules don't apply to me, just that guy because he's a cunt". I'm sure you can give a valid response, because you're a better person than Phil Fish and wouldn't act inappropriately online.
I never claimed I'm immune to anything, especially not reproaches. And I never claimed I was the most polite man in the world. The thing is, I'm not a game developer, and I'm not relying on you nor on anyone else to give me money for stuff I'm making. I don't have to take care of my PR, and I don't have to make sure you of all the people in the world appreciate me.

You see, when you are a dev there is this funny thing called Public Relations you have to take care of and keep as tidy as possible, so people such as me who care about who you are won't refuse to buy your game because you decided that you were better than everyone else. Phil Fish has completely lost his grasp on reality and seems to be isolated in his fantasy that he is a good developer and that getting an award from some indie game event gives you instantly the right to deny all criticism, as harshly as you see fit.

I only speak of Phil Fish in harsh terms because as a disrespectful, idiotic game developer that's what he deserves from me. Am I supposed to talk about this guy with a golden tongue while he openly despises all who dare say even the slightest negative thing about him ? Hell no I'm not. On the other hand, if he wants to avoid losing customers, he ought to make two things : keep his PR as pristine as possible (that includes not telling people to choke on your dick because you won an award) and making good games that are able to sustain contact with the concurrence. Phil Fish has met neither of those criteria and as such he fails miserably as a developer. His insults and his lack of grasp with reality just makes him fail miserably as a social being too.

So, am I to take from this that you admit you're acting worse than him, and are saying that it's okay because you're a "nobody"? K. That's a fascinating self demeaning absolver of guilt.

Public Relations isn't about being a good guy. If you rely on that, you really don't care who they are, you care what they look like.
I have never seen Phil Fish say that he's better than everyone else (you can always give a link). Still, it's good that you decided you're better than him. You have to start somewhere, keep at it and one day you'll be better than everyone else.

Are you his psychiatrist? I hope not, because you might not be able to work in your field anymore. You're probably just making shit up. Also, "all criticism"?

When I see a man, am I supposed to give him million dollars? No! I'm supposed to stab him! There is no neutral ground or shades of gray!
"openly despises all who dare say even the slightest negative thing about him" part would require some proof. I've seen the tweets and videos, and I've never seen this "open despisal".

Two questions:
1. Do you admit that you're lying your teeth off with all your psychology analysis and whatnot or do you think that they're true?
2. If you thought they're true, do your insults and lack of grasp with reality make you fail as a social being?

Ganerumo: ...
take Stanley Kubrick for instance - it's quite known that he was a j*rk to everybody... but does that matter really? he made so many awesome movies!

should we all stop liking his movies because of what he was like? I don't think so. as long as I don't have to meet the person and as long as he delivers great things, I have no problem with that...

what you do is just forcing everyone your point of view, which is not cool.
low rated
Ehhh, what's really sad is that a guy who obviously is a capable programmer and pixel artist (or at least he has said people on his team) chose to make some simplistic pseudo-retro platformer, a PLATFORMER, the most simplistic genre of them all, I think they rival Pong for their sheer shallowness. The idea of a creative developer being free from the constraints of publishers, who above all demand simplistic games to sell to as broad an audience as possible, and then using that freedom to make exactly that type of simplistic game... is beyond words. The man is obviously shallow in the brain if FEZ is the height of his ideas on creative design. But the fact that he is a consoletard and started out selling his game on console, probably says that he likes being anally raped by Microsoft at every opportunity.

Not to mention the "poisoning of the well" that all these pseudo-indie hipster devs do to the independent scene for video games. They have done more damage than anyone by making "indie" in the common perception mean pretentiousness, hipster-ism, knock-off pixel art or "Cubist" minecraft style, and NES chiptunes.

The "real" indie talent scene is the indie RPG scene, stuff like the Age of Decadence devs, Dead State, Underrail, etc. People who use their creative freedom to make actual complex deep games that aren't being made anymore, and would never get publisher backing, not generic indie platformer/art-game #359854528934

TL,DR: "I like RPG's, I do not like platformers"

I came here to let you know that you are being silly
I like stuff, the more stuff to do the better. "Running" and "jumping" isn't much stuff.
Platformers...shallow? Go. Play. La-Mulana.

Or any Metroidvania.
Well, I'm 33% into the game (according to the loading screen) and I find it has a nice light atmospheric feel to it and clever puzzles that do require some observation skills.

After hammering at a piece of code for an hour or two, I find 15 minutes of this game rather therapeutic.

Yes, it doesn't require an IQ of 170 to play, but many of it's puzzles, the artistic direction and the rotation mechanic makes for a pretty clever game.

Hats off for pulling it off without making use of any "AI". Just goes to show the diversity that you can find in gaming when developers think outside the box a little.
