Hit harder, fight faster, win weirder!

BlazBlue Calamity Trigger, a fun, fast, colorful, and complex fighting game featuring original characters, spectacular moves, surprisingly engaging story, and excellent dynamic music, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 for the first week!

BlazBlue Calamity Trigger is the first hi-res 2D fighter from the creators of the Guilty Gear series! It's a traditional 2D fighter where two characters participate in a duel. The story of the game involves dissent and destruction among a powerful council, known unofficially as "the Library," which controls a great power that once saved humanity, but which now wields its power in protective, some say repressive, ways. A round is called a "rebel" and one match can consist of one to five "rebels". To win a round, one player must incapacitate the other by reducing their opponent's health to zero or have more remaining health than their opponent when the clock runs out. Every character has a weak, medium, and strong attack. Also everyone has a "unique" technique, called a Drive attack, which is different for each character. The game comes with a full high-quality MP3 soundtrack that's an equivalent of 2 CDs and totals 42 exhilarant tracks!

If you feel like some satisfying, stylish, and sublte video game violence today, make sure to grab BlazBlue Calamity Trigger for only $8.99 on GOG.com! The 10% special launch discount offer lasts only until Monday, April 21, at 9:59AM GMT. All worked up for some action? Don't forget to check out our spectacular Battle of the Games 2014 event, with many excellent titles up to 80% off!

jose1979mlc: No offence intented, but I really hate fighting games with cuttie/anime character designs. Who the hell wants to fight with a school girl with a broom?! Who the hell would not rather be a punk badass?

Just compare the character desings SNK used to do 20 years ago and the designs they made in the last 10 years. Or the Characters in SF2 with the new characters in SF4. Or Guilty Gear with Blazblue. There should be a law against that.

groze: I have nothing against quirky characters doing ultra-hit visually gorgeous combos. And, for the record, your comparison between Guilty Gear and BlazBlue designs is faulty at best, you can play as an androgynous kid everyone mistakes for a girl, fighting with yo-yos and a teddy bear, in the Guilty Gear series. And he's awesome.

It's a matter of preference, I guess. I find realistic fighters with buff, macho characters to be quite boring. They leave nothing to the imagination.
It is not about being macho, or any other kind of Freudian overcompensation. I find anime/cuttie designs may work for a happy-go-lucky platformer , or for TV series, but my eyes bleed when I see the likes in fighting games. We all love Mario, well, just try to imagine him in Fallout 4. To me it is just out of place.

And some over-the-top designs are even worse. Have you seen the new Guilty Gear character that is a F****** bed? Or all these characters without limbs and strange animations to hit? Yes all these folks that make Amingo, from Marvel Vs Capcom, look like Michelangelo´s David?

To me that is not original that is just lazy, VERY lazy design.

GGXXACP: Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus
BBCT: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger
BBCS: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
BBCP: BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma

...now what the hell are you talking about....

on Guity Gear saga there is no HCX
on Street fighter IV there are only 3 versions relesed SF4, SSF4, SSF4AE,USF4 (comig soon), and mobile ports
on Mortal Kombat series I had never heard nothing about this version, well maybe you're right, I do not like Mortal Kombat ... stop trying to to mock me, I get the message, we are not in the fighting game forums ...

sorry to everyone ...

LOL, is Briget right?... as they say, briget is effeminated nothing more, becase his family wanted him to be girl, but according to rumors venom is homosexual, but they are just rumors, I do not know how certain they are.

Yup, it's Bridget. And, no, he isn't gay as far as I know, just androgynous.

Bridget was just one example, Guilty Gear has its fair share of quirky over-the-top characters.

As for Venom, his allegedly homosexuality is but speculation and whatever fan fiction manga and anime fans often engage on. Venom is dedicated to Zato-1 because he thinks he owes him his life, we don't have a perfect understanding of the concept of honor that the Japanese cherish and cultivate, and our misconceptions along his design makes it easy for western society to label him as homosexual. Nothing in the games of the series I played indicates that, he's just motivated by a sense of honor and dedication to the man who saved his life.

Grargar: Fun fact: It has no online multiplayer on Steam, either.
Sorry, late reply. I know that, I'm saying that if it regains online multiplayer, I see it being, more than likely, through Steamworks. Which would mean that it wouldn't be getting it back for GOG.

Of course, a non-Steamworks option could happen. But it would need to prove to have as competent a netcode as that, which seems to be harder to find nowadays.

Crosmando: Melty Blood though is just a light-hearted fighting game that uses the characters from Tsukihime's setting, nothing in it is dealt with in a particularly "serious" way.
GIANT AKIHA VS MECHA HISUI!

'Nuff said!

It's supposed to follow the events of a discarded route in which Sacchin didn't get offed by Shiki and was one of the main heroines. So it's not really "canon", in as much as any of the routes in Tsukihime can be considered canon.
