This weekend, to give you some rest from the great RPGs, we're having a promo on Rebellion catalogue full of great strategy games. How about such gems like Evil Genius, Ground Control series, Lords of the Realm and more 50% off? And if you already bought some of the games from Rebellion's offering, you will receive the 50% discount if you complete the 11 games Rebellion pack, but if you're only interested in some of the games from this offer, you can grab them with a 30% discount. The promo lasts until Monday, October 18 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, so [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/rebellion_titles]go grab some good old games for cheap before it ends.

Rohan15: Nice, you own all games from this promo. Have fun and don't forget to check out our next offer.

DAMMIT! Oh well, great promo anyways.
Heh, first time this has happened to me too . . . not sure whether I should feel proud or worried.

That said, the entire catalog here at full price would be something like 40 games at release prices, so my sale-packrat habit can't be too much of a problem.

Right? Right??!
the real question here is: why would anyone already own Empire earth 3 for example?

I never played it, so I don't know why is it bad.

But the answer is - because there was exactly the same promo already - 50% off bundled, 30% off if it's not whole Rebelion pack.

BECAUSE I wanted %50, not %30. And besides, I don't trust reviews, I like games from playing them.
Are people actually complaining about not getting enough of a discount off a $6 or $10 game? "What? It's $4 instead of $3? pass!". Wow.

What, falas (or felas, or what was the name of that bloody spammer) got banned for spamming, so they continue to post anonymously?

Like I've said earlier, that's about the only downside of trading at such low prices; even a decent discount means only a few dollars, at most.
NOTE: Don't think I'm opposing you; I agree that it's really nice to have even $1.8 off a game, but I suspect you'll get a number of responses much more belligerent than this one, and I wanted you to see a reason behind the situation formed in a nicer manner first.
i still cant deside if i buy empire earth 1, and/or ground control 1+2

i like rts games, but i am more into stuff with tanks and base building, you know like starcraft or command & conquer, for me it is not so much about the strategy, but experiencing the heat of the war, its just fun to build a fortress where the enemie just dies within seconds when he approaches, or on the other hand demolishing his own base

but i also like tactical stuff like jagged alliance 2

so i dont know if those games are made for me or not

In Ground Control 1 you build nothing. You have a very limited supply of units and you have to think and plan your strategy very carefuly. The game is not easy but maybe the best real time tactical game. I highly recommend it! The second part is also fun but they introduced unit building into the game. Empire Earth 1 is also really cool and that's more like Age of Empires (I don't know the sequels).

Thanks, it's also the name of my website where I rant about various things.

I wouldn't have thought you were opposing me or being a jerk about it at all, quite the opposite. It's amazing to me though that others can't see that, yes, it's only a buck or two off, but it's a buck or two off something so ridiculously cheap to begin with!

Imagine if something was a dollar, and people were angry that it only went on sale by 30 cents, so they said "never mind, I'll wait until it's 50% off". It's only a dollar to begin with! This site is selling retro classics cheaper than anywhere else, including the consoles (XBLA is going to be charging at least $10 for Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, this site has it for $6), and people are still complaining. It really is baffling to me, I know it's a tough economy and all but we're not talking new prices on games... if you just didn't buy two cups of coffee at Starbucks or a couple Cokes at a corner store, you have saved enough to buy whatever game you want from this site... I don't know how they're making any money off this place!
