as an informed pc user, this is my philosophy:

Microsoft offers Extended Support to all their operating systems.
during the Extended Support Security updates are guaranteed.
Windows XP Extended Support End Date is 08/04/2014
so I use it until that date, then I move to Windows 7.
Windows 7 Extended Support End Date is 14/01/2020
so Windows 7 will be around for years yet......
No! GOG should only support Mac OSX and Win8. They should drop support for every older platform just like they've done thus far.
Of course Windows 7 will be around for a really long time, it's a good OS, why shouldn't it?

I think I'll be sticking with 7 and just upgrading with 9 if that gives an actual incentive and reasons to upgrade
They are to what I know.

XP support runs out in 2014 lol. I have a feeling my grand children will be using XP at this rate. XP will never die
I'm not worried they would drop Win7 support anytime soon.

I am a bit worried about Win XP 32 bit though...

yeah, with the little difference that Win7 is far more reliable than Win8..... haha

... all of their most recent releases still support XP and Vista, you know.
Why is this even in question? Its a given most games should work on XP anyway right?. No guarantee's Windows 8 will stay around (smells of WinME or Vista flop).
I don't disagree but reading your reasoning, it sounds like your entire reason GOG should continue to support Windows 7 is because you use it

While we're on topic. Here are a few reasons why Fallout and Fallout 2 should be sold on GOG.

They're pretty good.
Honestly, they're pretty good.

Win7 = older os ---> more reliable (eg SP)
Win8 = newer os --> less reliable

understood?
p.s.
please don't reply stupidly, thanks.
Have i missed the bit where GoG are not supporting the likes of Vista?

Have you actually tried Win8 for a prolonged period? Because ... Well it doesn't look that way.
