He's a true hero. Nothing is more valiant than sacrificing yourself to protect the ones you love. May he rest in peace.

Tarm: This always gets me mad. Why the hell do always the drunk fuck of a driver survive?
Something similar happened to my family. Robbed me of getting to know my grandparents.

orcishgamer: This is sad, I wonder if he was heading home from PAX.
The drunk usually lives because his muscles are relaxed, fyi, causing a much less damaging shock. Seeing an accident coming causes people to tense up under normal circumstances. This causes far more trauma.
I don't know the laws in Washington but there are mandatory homicide charges in cases like this in most states. My state even tried a guy for murder for hitting a dude in the middle of the road who'd been run over and left for dead earlier. The guy blew .09% BAC so he was charged with murder even though most folks would have hit that guy were they stone cold sober at the time (2 am on a country backroad) and the dude was already dying or dead. I wouldn't expect this guy to get off lightly.

With our overcrowded jails, even a conviction doesn't mean much justice may be served.
Company of Heroes was a great game. Lots of fun, beautiful to look at and watch replays of, hard as heck sometimes but still with a huge fun factor. This guy definitely makes the short list of developers I would hope would have a long and successful career in line with his talents and vision.
His poor wife too. What a sad, terrible thing.

DrIstvaan: I'm quite certain the drugged chick who caused the accident will have her own remorse to go with any punishment she gets (provided she's not a complete moster); after all, two of her friends were killed as well due to her condition.

Most people justify their behavior in their own minds, no matter how horrible. That makes monsters out of people like factories turn out widgets. She's even got an easy out -- "I was just drunk, it wasn't my fault."
I have a feeling that someone who was "known to the police" is probably not on a life path in which she worries about other people.

lukaszthegreat: i bought company of heroes last Sunday.
Bye dude. See you in hell.

WTF is that about?

This made me teary eyed, which is quite a feat.
That man had better be in Heaven right now, or God's going to be getting an earful on his behalf.
I post this song as a farewell to Brian. I think it fits, in regards to his wife...
Erin says thanks to gamers
