Hi I'm New here, I'm thinking about buying Soul Reaver from this site.
My question is, Can be able to use The Mad Catz Street Fighter IV FightPad Microsoft Xbox 360 Game Controller for the game?

im pretty sure you can.

even if the game does not have native support, there are third party programs that will allow you to map any button to any key (why the official xbox controller does not have this is beyond me)

try this one:

http://xpadder.com/

this might only work for gamepads... but a stick should work.

ps- buy the game no matter what! its that good! if you want one of the finest vampire stories ever told. also the game series with the best voice acting i have played.

You probably can... but you shouldn't.

For a game like Soulreaver using an analogic stick like the one on a normal X-Box pad is much better than the digital pad of a fighting pad/stick.

Also I don't know how this "pad" works but usually fighting sticks use the "hat" controls for the directions instead of using the normal X and Y axis; this can be problematic for some older games (and some recent ones) who will refuses to let you assign anything else than an axis to the movements.

ill agree.

id rather use the keyboard than a joystick, for this game.

cant speak to your gaming skills, but id imagine a gamepad would serve you better.
@SapienChavez, @Gersen - Thanks for the Reply, Help, & Info ;)

I love this series, Raziel is my Fave. I hope the whole LOK series will be on this site in the future.

I'm gonna try everything later, thanks again.

The program to use the fightpad or any Xbox 360 wired Controller:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/xbox-360-controller-for-windows#support

But now, if its not one thing, its the other.

Raziel is stuck running upward, I cant make him stop. I try using the same fightpad on my xbox (to see if my fightpad is damage or something) & nothing, its working fine. I dont know what to do? The light is not on but I think its the turbo doing that? I've try to hold down the turbo button down for 5 sec, But nothing.

First check the property of your fightpad in Windows to know what it uses for movement (you should find it in : Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers there right click on your fightstick and select "Game controller setting".) if it uses the axis, if it use the hat or something else.

For example you can compare between my fightstick (fightstick.jpg image) and a normal x-box pad (xbox.jpg). The fightstick only has some buttons and the hat, while the x-box pad also has the X/Y axis (the left joy pad) the X/Y rotation (right joy pad) and the Z axis (left/right trigger) and the "hat" is the D-Pad

Like I said in my post, most probably the game uses the X/Y axis for movement but it's possible that your pad, being a "fight" stick and not a normal pad, doesn't even have the X/Y axis but uses something totally different for movement (like the one in my picture), if that's the case then you must try to remap the controls in the game.

@Gersen - Thanks a million for your help, Its working now. Thanks again. Your right about the digital pad, 2 of the buttons dont respond, so I had to adjust the Fightpad layout.
