I back up pretty much everything from GOG, including installers for both Windows and Mac (I use both) and all the extras. Of course I don't bother with install files in languages I don't speak and generally don't save manuals in other languages. I have over 500 games on my shelf and use (way) less than 1TB of space on an external.

Edit: If you use Mac only, you can disregard Grargar's (helpful) comment about multiple files. The Mac installers on GOG consist of just one .dmg for each game.

Ultra_DTA: So all the files are zipped in the GoG installers, and that's enough to back up? I'm fine with not having saves.
Yes, that's one of the great things about DRM-free after all.

hudfreegamer: I backup everything (And I mean EVERYTHING).

You only really NEED to back up the exe and bin files you get form GOG though.

Onox: Doesn't it cost you a lot in disks, cloud storage and so on ? I backup all my documents, courses and work, but not game installers... although I probably should :p How many games do you have on gog and how much space do you use to back them all up ?
I backup everything every two weeks (alternating between two external hard drives). I also backup game installers to dvd. I think they're both pretty affordable now.

I currently use 1tb hard drives, but I'm out of space so I'm going to upgrade soon. A 4tb hard drive costs about $150.00. My GOG and humble game installers take up about 100Gb. I also have those games installed along with around 100 other games.

Oh no... please, don't tell me that when you change the language for the installer (which is often the wrong language by default), it changes the languages of the manuals as well...

If so, I'm gonna have the hell of a time redownloading all my manuals to make sure they are in the right language...

Shows how often I read the manual for games ><.

trentonlf: Manuals?
Not happy about the possibility of having to redownload all my manuals for multi-lingual games (hope Galaxy will take away the hassle of manually managing your backups), but props for the picture. Very funny :).

I'm an American! I am semi-fluent in exactly one language, so I haven't really worried much.

The manuals in other languages that I mentioned, however, are just on a few games that I own and are THEIR OWN downloads and clearly labeled as such. So I'm pretty sure that if you change the language on the download, nothing in the extras will change.

Thanks. You just saved me a world of hassle :).
