Testing Dolphin I've noticed that Wii titles work on my PC better than old Cube games do.

However I also note that since Wii games are still current and not too difficult to shop for - pulling the ISO's eat at my conscience.

With the coming of digital media is there some place where Nintendo is selling the games for download?

I cringe at purchasing an actual Wii console as we only have one TV in the house and my fiancee would be absolutely miffed if I began turning off her cooking shows and soaps.
Nintendo is exclusive to consoles only, specifically ones they make. The only way you'll get hold of DL versions are any that are made to be sold through the online stores for the DS series, Wii, and Wii U. Other than that your only hope is emulation, but that carries all the usual risks.

Doesn't it kind of ruin the games if you play them on the PC? I mean a lot of those WII games use that motion control thing.

You could, you know, buy the games, crate ISOs, play on emulator. Technically no need to actually get a Wii, and still behave decentlike.

Yeah, I run emu's but Wii titles are still "live" so I'd rather not pull them.
I was going to purchase hard copies directly but I don't have a (one of the few) DVD Rom drive that can read them.

Unless it's possible to get a Wii unit from a junk shop just for obtaining the downloads and transffering the downloads to Dolphin via USB stick.
Yup, Nintendo games are completely exclusive to Nintendo consoles. There's no other legal way to get them. Wii can be gotten really cheap these days, though I don't know a way to get around the one TV, two people problem... maybe start playing games in the middle of the night? :P

Edit: Oh, I see, you're talking about buying them and then downloading it to the computer. Well, yeah, I think you could find a Wii pretty cheap. But I don't see how the motion controls would work on a computer...

I don't think any retail Wii games are available as downloads. Certainly not many.

It takes a specific DVD Rom drive to read them and I'm pretty sure those brands are hard to get a hold of. I believe Nintendo intentionally cloaked those games to most readers - it's just a loophole that some brands can still see through the cloak.

Then you could buy the games, then download the ISOs. Same difference.

A lot of those games designed for Motion Sensing are MUCH better with a standard game pad - hence the benefit of emulation which can map the Wii-mote to a 360 or Logitech game pad.

It is easier to rip ISOs on a Wii and you can now get a Wii cheaper than any of those DVD drives.

This ^

Is what I finally concluded. As long as I am in possession of hard copies to justify the ISOs.....
It's easy enough to dump from the real discs. You can dump directly from your computer if it has a compatible DVD drive (see the FAQ for a partial list). It's also possible to dump discs from the Wii itself but for that you'd need a Wii. :)

As for the TV problem you can also connect the Wii to the spare input of a computer monitor with the appropriate adapter (assuming you aren't using a laptop/all-in-one) and then switch between them with the monitor's input select function.

Nintendo don't sell their retail games digitally yet, and even if they did it probably wouldn't be in a format suitable for Dolphin (and you'd most likely need to purchase them from a Wii U) so buying real discs to dump is still the best option.

Dolphin supports real Wii controllers connected to the PC using a compatible Bluetooth adapter. Some Wii games also support a Classic Controller mode which doesn't use motion so would adapt well to a PS3/360 controller or the like.
