grviper: Actually, since they returned to the game for a round of updates, there's some hope for a sequel now. And I wish for a Stacking-style level in it.
Given Double Fine post-Psychonauts track record if there ever is a sequel we probably never see it on PC.
Has there been detailed patch notes posted anywhere? I'm curious what was changed in Meat Circus.

wpegg: Well, I thought the Meat Circus was hard as hell, and I couldn't complete it. I think it comes down to whether or not you bought psychonauts as a platform game, or a fun game. I can't do platformers, I just don't have the timing, more of a thinky person. As a result I just looked up the ending on youtube. As a fun game, it's fantastic.

As for not getting anything at 100%, you do! There's a video of that on youtube too.
Oh, forgot about that vid :/
I was a little sleepy at that time, was up for 38 hours :D Anyway what I also meant to say was: I don't like it when you go through the game, upgrading skills, weapons, powers whatever but you only ever get to use the best stuff on the last level, with no option for a NG+ when its completed. That kind of thing only gives me incentive to upgrade the things I actually use and gives me no motivation to upgrade and try out things that I never/rarely use, plus NG+ gives the player a more enjoyable reward for hitting 100% than say... a video clip :D

About the meat Circus, I just thought that was a pretty straight-forward level, the only part I would have said was too hard was the rising water at the end, but thats because I hate moments that are mostly trail-and-error and one mistake and you die and its too hard to see what you can grind on, where you've to jump to and what you can climb on etc.

One of the members of the Double Fine forums has made the contents of the Steam patch into a standalone patch. Has anyone given this a shot yet?

Edit: He's on GOG too!

Even with knowing about this beforehand it freaked me out. Just put on steam on the computer and it starts downloading? WTF I thought there be a bit more of a warning or after you actually try playing psychonauts or steam would have an official written thing someplace about the update.I ended up just deleting psychonauts in middle of the downloading. Steam is annoying.

None GOG Pc gaming makes me so paranoid... Automatic updates. AT least no kind of viruses or whatever from steam right? Just annoying.

My first playthrough, the Meat Circus was a nightmare. The escort section at the beginning was hair-tearingly annoying, and the water section was just HARD. But at least you got infinite lives.

My second and third playthroughs, the water section was much easier, because I'd memorized the proper timing and movements to get through it. Also note that if you're invisible then your dad doesn't throw fireballs at you. It helps. The escort section, however, was still full of RAGE and HATE and all that good stuff.
