Man, has this happened to anybody else?

So, a while ago I bought Duke Nukem 3D, full price and everything. Coem back the next day, it's on sale half-off. I don't buy any game sfor a while, need to save my money and all that, but yesterday I have some more freedom regarding money, so I decide to buy Prince of Persia. Well, we can see where this is going, so my question is, how often does this happen to other people?
There's a simple solution to this: only buy your games on the weekend, that way if it is part of a promo sale, you'll get the discount and if it isn't, it will be at least a week, instead of a single day, before you feel like you missed out.
Not often to me, but I bought S&M Seasons 1, 2 and 3 at USD50 some time ago, and a week later it was slashed to only USD20. I was rather jiffed about that for a while lol.
I bought the star wolves series on steam at full price, which was about 60 bucks, then it was on sale a week later...14 dollars for all three :(

so it happens to me from time to time.

No, this has never happened to anyone else.
Don't get too worked up about a few dollars. That's for what, like one McD meal? Consider yourself saved.
I'm not bothered at all by price cuts. After all, I already did decide the game's worth at least the full asked price, didn't I? In some cases they're worth more, but it's kind of difficult to pay more when you cannot change the price yourself.

I wonder how a pay-as-much-as-you-like payment model for computer games would go. RadioHead did manage to pull it off in the music industry!

For one example: look back at the humble indie bundle which happened back in may. Granted, there was also a donation to a couple charities involved, which certainly skewed the result.
I only buy games during promotions, I got a huge catalog to play through already so im not hurrying anywhere :)
And the RadioHead example is also bad, since it was a one-time thing, not a business model implemented for long term profit. More of a stunt, that managed to increase sales considerably.

So it's up for someone to try out, and either become a living legend of the industry, or fail miserably and bankrupt in agony.

Yeah, but remember that German guy that popped up here trying to do "Give Whatever You Want Bundle" but the whole thing turned out to be nothing but a scam? I think many rights holders are hesitant to get involved in anything like that again after that whole kerfuffle.

That's... a lot worse than $2 off. I'm just a bit surprised that it's happened to me twice in a row on the same site. I am considering picking up a game next Thursday and seeing if that goes on sale. I may have a gift! A sucky gift, but a gift none the less.

Then you can try to sell knowledge about hat game will be on sale what games will go on sale! I'm sure the internet is big enough that you can find customers.
