Sorry if everyone has heard about this already (i've tried using search and no topics show up) or doesn't care, but I think it's interesting.

Basically, pmG, the company that sells/makes messiahStudio5, is having a "Dare to Share Challenge"

"We're doing an unprecedented viral test marketing campaign where your success in sharing this offer will allow you and others to get our amazing award winning animation and rendering software ( messiahStudio5 ) for the unheard of price of just $10 (regularly $499) or choose the Pro version for just $40 (regularly $1195). When this experiment ends, the prices will return to normal."

Personally, I tried the demo a long time ago (years?) and the program looked pretty complex/difficult to use. Anyway check it out.

Safetyid: ...
Thanks for the post, I would probably grab a copy if the "rules" were different. Only get the license if the goal is met (most likely will be met). Using my money for free till that happens is a negative. If the goal is not met I get a refund . . . how long would that take??

Too much personal info required IMHO and PayPal only is a negative for me as well.

GameRager: 1200 bucks for animation software? What the fook are they smoking?
What ever it is, it's only half as good as what the Maya guys are smoking. Must get their smoke from Adobe . . . =)

GameRager: If people could ever agree on pirating anything it'd be this stuff...it's basically piracy to PAY THEM.
I have used Maya on a couple of occasions, it is awesome software with a steep price and a steep learning curve but . . . it can do amazing things. Many of our games are created on similar software. If you make your living using the software it's worth every dime. . . if you want to learn it . . . it's an absurd price. There was a free educational version to be fair (may be available still) I would pick up a copy of Messiah to play around with for $40 but I don't use PayPal or need the software enough to give them that much personal info . . even for that price.

Don't even get me started on Adobe . . . = \

Still, I don't pirate software but . . . if the DRM keeps getting more intrusive (if that's possible) I can see myself turning into a pirate in 5 to 10 years . . . =)
I don't know why I just chipped in $10 for this.

I guess it may eventually come in handy.
