Hi folks, new here :)

The site looks fantastic and I plan on doing a lot of snooping around the catalogue, SO MANY!!! I will probably wait for confirmation of win7 support before I go on any shopping sprees... anyways, while looking up information on gog.com before I go deciding using my credit card, I saw an article http://www.gamesradar.com/pc/pc/news/gogcom-closes-promises-download-solution-for-those-who-purchased-games/a-20100920151219848035/g-2006032219817514003 stating gog.com was closing. Obviously its not since this is an active forum. Is everything in the clear, or is this an erroneous news article? if it is I would have them take it down.

In any case, looking forward to playing some classics, yay! Any chance you folks are considering obtaining Rebellion? It got horrible reviews back in the day, but I loved it! Don't know why... maybe I won't if I played it again... anyways, thanks for having me :D

Welcome to GOG!

This was somewhat of a publicity stunt. The GOG site was still in Beta for well over a year and was going through a massive re-write that required a temporary shut-down. It was stated that "GOG could not continue in its present state," which led many to believe it was shutting down...period. GOG went along with it & spun it into a full-fledged publicity stunt, refusing to comment until a give day & time.

In short, GOG is alive, well, and quite healthy. :-)
Thanks ChauncyK!!! whew... first up Baldurs Gate, I see its already win7 compatable ;)

now about Rebellion...

Be sure to look in the Baldurs Gate specific forum for the best mods to use, so much nicer playing the game at a good resolution
GOG never talks about what games might be coming in the future. They will give the vaguest of hints (so vague they could mean almost anything), but that's about it. LucasArts will certainly be high on their list of publishers to add, but so far the Force has not been with them. :(

The Force is with them alright, its just so much you can do against the power of the Sith...

Unless you like the midichlorian thing, then you can do blood tranfusions :P
lol, glad I found this place :)

Oh yes you would ! That was, is and will always be brilliant, and not enough people know about it.
But we need Lucas Arts here, first...
