Hello,

I remember that many games on GOG were like $4.99, but now they are Euro 4,49.
Since 1 euro = 1.3 dollar. Games have become more expensive.

Or am I missing something?

Hi,

We have a currency selector on the bottom right side of every game card and on the main page :) You can easily switch back to USD :)
They were actually $5.99, so most games didn't become more expensive...

...but some did.

You are missing two things:

1) The games you are thinking of were (and still are) $5.99, not $4.99. That is equivalent to €4.54 at current mid-market rates, so paying in euros is actually ever so slightly cheaper (assuming your bank charges you the same fees for either transaction, of course).
2) You can change back at the bottom of the page if you want to pay in USD - you don't have to use EUR if you don't want to.

Also, if you haven't, read this newspost from earlier today.

ahh, yes. $5.99. True. Phew. Good.

It's a mighty good idea to have 2 currencies. In some cases the buyer does not need to pay currency transfer fee.
Thanks Gog!

No offense but you know this is not relevant to what he is saying and is simply misleading. You can't get the US $ price from that, you get the Euro price converted to $'s.

Although granted, that was assuming he was actually talking about a game that was unfairly priced between regions, he was incorrect in the game he was referring to it seems.

@Feetjai, most of the catalogue is still roughly the same price as before, just in € currency now. Some games though, like those from Daedelic have now become more expensive as a result of the change, so look at them on a case by case basis.

You do? Dungeon Keeper 2 shows as $5.99 in $US and as €4.49 in €EUR. Google tells me that €4.49 is $5.93, so I'm not getting a conversion.

Yeah that was intended for the games that were regionally priced, like the case the OP (mistakenly) thought he was looking at. Basically any game with a store credit compensation.

Yes. Still, what Judas said is relevant to the OP (no mention of regionally priced games), especially since the OP wasn't remembering the price correctly (post 5). For the regionally priced games that is of course true.

Agreed.
