So... is the download counter on the main page for real? It seems like every number rolls off at the exact same speed. Now, if the counter is running on a timed loop that makes sense, but it would also mean that the counter at any given moment is definitely not accurate.

So in reality, the download counter could be off by hundreds, even thousands of downloads.

Or am I missing something here?
I disconnected my internet and it kept going
The changing number is really just for show. You will get the proper updated number when you refresh the page.

Yeah, you're right. I did a reload the and downloads count jumped by about ten. So it seems like the number you see at first is accurate. After that it's an *extremely* rough approximation.
I've opened gog.com in two tabs. After a few minutes I've refreshed one of them - got two different numbers in tabs. So it works on refresh.

the update rate is recalculated every 30 minutes or so and updated your start point on refresh is taken from the actual number though
