I get confused by things going in and out of sale. Was gonna get all of the Black Isle RPGs for someone and set for myself too.

Now they're not on sale. Going for a board game instead.

Would it be possible to put these back on sale? Or at the least, next year, could the sale be more predictable and require less effort to keep track of?

Yeah, they're so expensive now. What a rip-off, $10 for 100+ hours of gameplay. Bah!

It was advertised when the atari games were going off sale but granted it could have been better advertised, I guess GOG couldnt persuade the hasbro side to extend the sale as some atari games came back on sale

They already put most Atari games back on sale. Some of the Atari games have had their base price reduced in recent months, just get some of those. Temple of Elemental Evil is a great buy if 9.99 will break your bank.

Also, Arcanum is an amazing RPG that's still on sale.

I don't get it, a million great games are on sale that a ton of people have never played but they're bent out of shape they missed getting 3 bucks off Baldur's Gate (which was on sale for 6 days I might add).

I just wanted to take advantage of a special that I thought would be around a little longer. I don't disagree that $10 is a good deal for these games, but $7 is better if I want to buy someone a bunch of them, yeah?

As far as I know, there's no delayed delivery of gifts, so I wanted to get it a little closer to Christmas.

So I thought I would ask, and at least make them aware that things going on and off sale here can be hard to keep track of.

And it's not like there is a shortage of ways of getting it for free around here :P

If u want a delayed delivered gift code just make it be sent to your own mail adress. U have the possibility to forge a crazy e-mail (everyone loves anim gifs with dancing cats) and u can send it when u want. Just dont forget to include the url/code :)

Sorry, your post was far more toned down compared to many, we've just had to see about 30 posts just like this go by this week. GOG even responded by putting a bunch of Atari stuff back on sale. But these guys need to make money, I don't always buy stuff for full price but when the Atari catalog went on sale it turned out I only didn't own one Atari game. I'd bought all the RPGs at full price (and some a couple of times for gifts).

You may or may not be bent out of shape per se (only you can say), but there are dozens of posters this week that clearly are. I'm one of the most negative people I know, but even I have got to say that obsessing over what's not on sale right now, with the amazing promos going on is definitely "glass half empty".

Anyway, I'd rather not be negative today, I think I need to drink some more. Who's with me?!

Just look whats going on with the humble bundle #2 with pay what u want.
People who have buyed it have gotthe bundle #1 for free.. and everyone paying after the announcement and paying above the average "price" will get it too.
And the people started complaining, because some of them already had the first bundle.. supported the bundle from the beginning and so on.

They announced does the sourcecode of revenge of the titans will be released if they reach 1.75 Million $ with sales before the bundle ends. And some people started complaining because it will "only" be the sourcecode and not the images, sounds etc.

At the moment in the wolfire blog they are giving out gifts to people who cannot buy the bundle (no cred cards and such things).. and i bet we´ll see complaining after this ended because some people missed the opportunity.

Its all about expectations.. and some people imho have wierd expectations

It´s pitty the Fallout series wasn`t on sale.. or does in relation to other games of the Series JA Deadly Games and JA2 Unfinished Business are priced high and weren´t on sale.. but hell.. in the end i will buy them anyway somewhen, even i got near all of them somewhere as Original CDs or as CD from a gaming mag. If they appear somewhere in a sale and i didnt miss it.. that will be the moment i buy it.. and if i want to play them before i buy it full price.

The only thing not so great about the holiday sale was the confusing start with the delayed catalogue. But i would guess there are decisions behind it (management, partnerships, financial) we don´t know. The timeframe of the sale imo was definitly long enough.

Btw. this is no rant against the thread starter, just some biased general observations of mine in the last days.

Now that is a great and embarrassingly obvious idea! I am very much going to do this when birthdays roll around. I might even embed them in custom websites or something.

I loved the humble bundle 2! I bought one and gave and paid higher than average.

I also paused to wonder why it is I was definitely in the loop about the various Steam sales but was not keeping up to date on the GOG sales. I think it's because Steam has its own client and I happened to be playing a lot of my steam games this week.

I think I also might have tuned out GOG because they post on facebook so often (it seems) much I can't recall any particular post if I don't click it immediately.

Anyway, I'll build my Black Isle library gradually instead, depending on the time I have available and so forth.
