I just recently formed a kinship (guild) on Vilya server and am looking for people to help grow with the kin and help make it special.

If we get people who are interested in end game raiding we will raid, if we get people who want to do skirmishes we will skirm, if we get people who want to do dungeons we will dungeon, etc. I and the 2 people who helped form the kin are very flexible.

Please PM Cymtyr, Superblue, or Margoroth ingame if you would like an invite. Got a character on another server? No worries, start one on Vilya and I'll give you a welcome package so it doesn't feel completely like starting over.

Please give it a think and come join us on Vilya if you play lotro. The server is friendlier than others I've played on, and there are tons of good times to be had. All races, levels, and classes welcome.

You know, I've tried Lotro last year, the only fun thing I remember is smoking the pipes - it had a fun sound and the smoke looked nice. Did I miss something?

Haha. I have to search YouTube for that.
smoking, ingame music system, and cosmetic wardrobe are three things that really set this game apart! (i know the wardrobe is in other gaems now, not sure about the other two)

i love LOTRO and play often. however, i have a lifetime account and probbaly would not play if i didnt.

ps- good luck with the kin!

Fah, besides smoking Mabinogi did that first. :P Not that it was a particularly fantastic game, but still.
an ingame music system? where players can convert real music or play the insturments in real-time?

cool deal, i thought lotro was the only game with that.

its pretty fun to listen to a full band playing "dont fear the reaper" with *moor* cowbell!
I just realized GW 2 is coming August 28th. I think I may nix plans for a kinship in lotro unless it's a casual kin.

I don't recall whether you could play in real time, but yeah, you could write music and play it on various instruments. It was pretty cool.

You could play in game, completely forgot that it was more awesome than the smoke! Very amusing thing to do, while the rest of the content is locked behind real-money currency.

LOL. I didn't want to hijack your thread, but I have spent a fair amount of time in Rift as of late. Returned to LOTRO and found the lag and bugs to still be very prevalent. Went back to Rift and they released two hot-fixes in 2 days and communicated IN GAME as well as their forums so people knew what was going on. 20 minute downtime instead of LOTRO's 8 hour windows was also welcomed. Logged onto the LOTRO forums where devs are arguing with fans over a 2 month old lag issue that they don't know how to fix, meanwhile they have added all kinds of stuff for sale in the store... then hop back to Rift where everything is part of the game and you don't have to budget in addition to your monthly fee...

I think I'm officially done with LOTRO. It was a fantastic game... possibly one of the best... its time has passed for me. Its an older game run on even older ideals. Competition is bringing out well thought out game engines with very good and knowledgeable customer support. As a customer... I just can't reason to pay someone who can't fix their own product (or who chooses not to).

All this to say... I think you won't be too upset with giving GW2 a shot. All I lack is getting my last 5 years back mentally. I put waaaaaay too much effort into that game :(

If you do make a guild in LOTRO, best of luck... some people still enjoy the game, flaws and all.

I second.

Rift is great, I'm playing that now on Threesprings. Great guild. Very responsive dev team, brand new 1.9 patch, world events. It's like WoW pre-Cata with amazing graphics. Like WoW, but just better. You can also transfer servers, no problem.

GW2 BWE have been very good (I pre'd it after the first one) but due to a lack of trinity, the community is going to be meh, I can tell already. The way the DE are set up discourages grouping even more.

LOL, sorry to double thread hijack. Cymtyr, if you play Rift holler at me. Huckle, what server are you on?

I play Rift but I play Rift Lite. I don't have the funds to sub at the moment.

faeblight. I think I have toons on another (but can't remember off the top of my head). I actually subbed at launch and reached 30-ish, but couldn't get into the story. I tried it again and its stuck with me now... just took me a while to get into it. The thing LOTRO beats everyone on is lore. You can bring soooo much into it.
