So this game releases in 2 days (5th September) yet no news from GOG if it will make it here or not, I did search a couple of old threads about this game but the last post is so old I don't wanna necro it.

There was some survey last year. I'm sure many people remember this: http://www.gog.com/news/new_gaming_options_followup_survey

The game will come for Win/Linux/Mac and if bought directly from the developers it will be DRM Free and no need for Steam either. I see no reason why this game shouldn't be here as well :-)

Also regarding the price of 30$ it seems that Uber Entertainment is treating 1$ as 1 Euro, on their official Site it says 29$ but If I go to buy on Steam it's 27.99 Euro, (29 Dollars is actually 22 Euros).

Can someone from GOG shed more light on this case?

If it matters, I'm willing to buy it even with the extra bump in price, A great RTS with availability on Linux and a price tag that doesn't read 50-60 Euro is more than enough for me to call it a deal.

I have a feeling TET posted once to say they'd decided not to pursue PA for distribution after all, but I can't find any such post, and if it does exist it'll pre-date the Galaxy announcement.

Its mainly a multiplayer focused game (sounds like singleplayer was kind of just tagged on) -- wont appeal to much of the GOG customer base. I'll pass. The few who want it can have it.

Indeed, I'd rather have Meridian New World.

How does the UberNet account work?

Tagged on? Did you not read the conquest mode devoted to single player? What RTS game isn't known for its multiplayer focus anyway? There will still be the ability to Skirmish with AI as well so I'm not seeing the difference to other RTS games here.
Allegedly GOG has a solution to enhancing multiplayer focused games with cross platform compatibility; rumor has it there is a thing called GOG Galaxy. It would make sense for Planetary Annihilation would be a good title for the new platform.
It has been rumored for a long time that PA will proberbly be the first game that would use the benefitis of GOGGalaxy! That´s probably also the reason why we haven´t heard anything new for quite some time...
...oh, and we can be sure it will come, as the survery ended positive.

From my experience it´s a great game BTW, probably the most revolutionary title since Homeworld.

Both Starcraft,Total Annihilation and the C&C were originally primarily single player focused - excellent single player campaigns. Starcraft took off as a multiplayer shortly after........Look mate. Multiplayer focuses games are not my thing and neither is it for a lot of people here. If you choose to buy it or whatever, good for you. Dont make it out to be what its not (its not going to be the best thing since sliced bread). Skirmish AI doesnt make it a game i personally would buy or play.

Well according to that 'survey' on PA back a while over 70% would accept the game here. So please don't go assuming everyone wants the same as you unless you back it with something.
And if you want to play age old titles for the rest of your life because you're apparently too proud of something then go ahead. Also, last I checked, starcraft and C&C aren't here 'mate' and they never will be. You've completely ignored 'other RTS games here'.

I would really like to see this game here since this is what Gog Galaxy was made for - multiplayer games.

Probably I would play more or less offline since im not so much for multiplayer (besides on Starcraft 2 with arcade - that is epic) but an occasional multiplayer game here and there is nice. The only thing I am missing in this game is the epic campaign from Total Annihalation but who knows maybe it will come as a dlc at some point.

So basically im more or less interested only in the galaxy conquest mode.

Otherweise thumbs up!

I'm not a big fan of online games and don't mind it's offline play, I'm buying it mainly cause of the Linux version and LAN play.
I'll likely pick it up if it lands here and has a solid single-player campaign. Been a while since I got into an RTS, and there's been no motion on Shipbreakers for what seems like ages.

Just to point out - this game has no campaign whatsoever - it has only a space conquest map without any story or narrative.

Edit: Nice change to your avatar - I did not recognize you at all till I saw you account name :)

Ah, perhaps not my cuppa then. Unless the AI is really good and makes the skirmishing worthwhile.

Ta. The hollowness of the new design is getting to me. :)
From the look of the forums they aren't expecting offline playability on release day. If that's the case it won't be here on September 5.
