Made a rare trip to my favorite local dollar store, where I often find peculiar and obscure games and books for a dollar or two, and I found:

Supreme Ruler 2020 Gold
Blood Bowl: Dark Elves Edition

For $2 each! I nabbed a copy of each, and there are more there. Have tempted to nab them as trade bait.
Dark Elves Edition is pretty much worthless, no one's playing it and it's not multiplayer compatible with the Legendary Edition (nor the upcoming Chaos Edition) that people _are_ playing. You can play single player, but the AI is so bad that you'll never lose a match once you understood the rules. You can give it away to someone who wants to learn the game, but its trade value is pretty much zero.

Supreme Ruler Gold is nice for that price, though you coulod also have gotten it for just 50 cents more from a sale at GamersGate.

Aren't all the editions of that game essentially the same?

Yes and no. Cyanide decided to only apply major patches and fixes to their latest editions. So while the game pretty much is the same, one of them is a bit buggy and the other almost broken.

Oh. and there's no online compatability between the game, so that to play it online you have to play the latest edition.

Out of all devs out there, the one that got the license to make Bloodbowl games is Cyanide. There is no god.

Blood Bowl (the board game) features 21 officially recognized races, plus a handful of semi-official ones. Of those, Legendary Edition features 20, and the upcoming Chaos Edition will support all 21 plus 2 of the semi-officials. Dark Elf edition features only 9 races.

In multiplayer, owners of DEE cannot play matches against owners of LE or CE. Since everybody who likes Blood Bowl has upgraded to LE long ago (to get the missing races), multiplayer for DEE is practically dead. About once in a week, there's a player in the lobby asking why he can't find any matches. These are usually players with DEE.

DEE also hasn't seen a patch for ages, while LE is at least sometimes updated.

In short, as I said above, DEE is a good choice if you want to learn the game while playing single player, but the AI isn't really competitive. Once I understood the rules, I had a streak of 50 straight victories, which brought a newly created team straight to winning the championship. After that, I quit single player and focused on playing against other people.

I _am_ quite a fan of Blood Bowl, but if you like it, you really should get the Legendary Edition next time it's on sale (GamersGate occasionally sells it for 10 €), or wait for the upcoming Chaos Edition.

I read that the retail version had drm. Unless there are ways to remove it?

All versions of Blood Bowl have DRM. Even the digitally distributed versions use SecuRom with a limited number of activations.

Ok, i wasn't sure where it was distributed. I am really interested in the game, but passed when i had the chance to buy the retail version because of securom.
Who are those games?

Blood Bowl is a unique tactical boardgame with RPG elements. It's set in a parallel version of the grossly violent, over-the-top, semi-parodistic Warhammer universe. In a nutshell, it's an American Football boardgame with fantasy races (who, according to the game's lore, discovered the NFL rules some ten thousand years from now, and mistook them for holy scriptures).

However, they didn't quite understand the football rules correctly, and so the Blood Bowl rules are slightly different from its historic predecessor. In Blood Bowl, you'll see things like players being killed on the pitch, eight players gang-fouling an opponent on the ground, treemen hurling halflings with the ball over enemy lines (hoping they'll survive the impact), goblins smuggling a chainsaw onto the pitch and mutilating opponents and team mates alike, Undead teams resurrecting killed opponents as zombies during halftime (and sending them on the field to play against their former team mates), etc.

Players level up with experience, have RPG-like attributes such as strength and agility, and can choose from a set of about 70 skills to improve their gameplay. You'll manage your team in a football manager-like environment, with finances, injuries, leagues, etc.

It's a unique game that's highly recommended!

(looks at GOG) Yes, it is unique and highly recommended.....

Although one of their games had the Warhammer liscensing and one didn't. The one without would be alot easier to bring to GOG.

Assuming you're talking about the game called "Chaos League", I doubt that. Cyanide got sued over releasing it, and I haven't seen it at any download stores. The lawsuit was settled out of court and ended up with Cyanide getting the permission to produce a Blood Bowl game _with_ the license, I don't think they are too keen on redistributing the previous unlicensed game afterwards.

That said, according to people who played it, "Chaos League" isn't half as enjoyable as an actual Blood Bowl game anyway.

However, the newer Blood Bowl games _would_ actually be a good fit for GOG, since the tactical turn-by-turn gameplay would fit well to the preferences of the more oldschool part of GOG's audience. I'm not sure if Focus (who have the distribution rights, Cyanide is just the developer) would sell it here though. But since Focus already does sell games on GOG, it's not impossible.

While it is a bit of a bummer that you only got the Dark Elf Edition, Supreme Ruler 2020 is a nice game, so congratulations for finding one of the more recent hidden gems.
