As of April 17 2012, and The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition's release, the following description is no longer relevant. To use the latest version of The Witcher 2, redownload and reinstall it.

There have been some confusion around patching GOG's version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to the latest 1.3 version. We've written a program that should handle the whole thing for you, and if that doesn't work (for some reason) we also decided to give you a quick-and easy, step-by-step guide how to upgrade your game to the latest version manually. Ready, set, go!

Please note: We have not yet updated the actual downloadable game file to version 1.3, so if you re-download the game you'll still need to install the patches.

zerebrush: Great game without support for something vital like patches? Can't be, can it?
Have you tried contacting Support for help?
Definitely does not patch properly if you're on 1.2 at least. I've tried downloading every available patch to no avail. If you're on 1.2, like me, you need the 1.2>1.3 patch which apparently doesn't exist anymore...

Now, do I need any patches or not? Where can I find them? I recently bought TW2 and there is not autopatcher file in my extras box.

You don't. Current installer should be up to date.

Thanks.

Right click and choosing "info" on my TW2.app reveils its Version 1.0.0
Considering that I can't move the character while a few other keys seem to work (like tab) made me confused.

Is there any better way to check the actual version of TW2?

No idea about the Mac version, but be aware that GOG uses its own version numbers for the installers. I think the main menu of TW2 should be mentioning the version, but not really sure.

Aha, interesting. Maybe the 1.0.0 doesn't make sense as it is most likely not maintained.

Unfortunately the version number is not on the mainscreen :-( But it was a good idea. Thanks again
I think my install of Witcher 2 is corrupted. I try to uninstall it (I want to reinstall it on a different HDD) but it just holds up while loading, I left it for over an hour and it just hadn't uninstalled, but I couldn't close it manually so I had to force it via Task Manager. I know it's a big install but I've never had a problem like this before.

Any suggestions, should I just delete the directory folder?
