adambiser: Thank you. I assume I just post the ZIP as-is and Mac users will know what to do. Correct?

rampancy: Yep. All they need to do is download and install Boxer, but I've already mentioned that in the read me. And you can just list me down as "rampancy". :)
It's now waiting to be authorized by ModDB admins. Thanks again!
Hey Adam, Panda Security lists the installer as generic malware. I'm sure it's a false positive, but can you just email them anyway to get them to verify? I tried to send the file across to them via email, but my server wouldn't let me. It refuses to let me send .exe files.

Thanks for letting me know. I have sent them an email. There is definitely no malware in the installer or the game.

They have written to me saying that their next signature release will no longer have this issue.

Yes, it was. Thanks for letting me know it was giving a false positive.
Wow the Death Incarnate difficulty equivalent in Orb is really difficult. I managed to make it to Scene 2 (chose Anguish instead of Tunnels). I got the boom staff already. Pretty fun. One thing that gets me is diagonal passageways though. Due to Wolf 3D's limitations, and because I'm using the mouse to move, I keep getting stuck when trying to backpedal diagonal passageways. Otherwise it's good fun :)

Yes, I should have warned about that. The main mapper amped up the difficulty a bit. His recommendation was to choose one difficulty level lower than you normally play Wolf3D. But if you can beat it at the toughest, big kudos to you! I've never tried it at that level. Someone else tested it at that level. :)

Glad you're enjoying it so far though. The mapper floored even me with some of the stuff he pulled off in later levels. You'll start to forget that it's a Wolf3D-based game, in my opinion.

I finally finished Act 1 on the hardest difficulty. Pretty good. Zaehylos was tough as hell, and I had a lot of fun fighting him.

One problem I have with the game is the textures. Wolf 3D had clean, contrasting walls and floors. Orb has a dirtier, grittier look, and sometimes it works, but there are times when it's very confusing. I had a lot of trouble finding keys because passageways blended in with the walls, and I ended up running past them several times before stumbling upon them by complete accident.

Regarding difficulty settings, I think it's not that hard once you get the boom staff. The difficulty that comes with the first 2 levels is that you have to melee the sentries, and there's little room for error. Once you get the staff - and MP seems to be very plentiful until you reach Zaehylos's lair - the game is really easy. The guardians that gank you may occasionally kick your rump, but it isn't as difficult as having back-and-forth melee sessions with sentries. I like that the player doesn't get the boom staff in the first level, but I think it's better to have fewer sentries; going toe-to-toe with sentries was exciting, but it would get tedious after a while.

But all in all, you guys did a very good job. The excitement really ramps up after Act 1 Scene 2. :)

Congratulations! The game has 6 acts in all and, as you noticed, you can choose your own path through the game. You play 30 levels and possibly 6 secret levels out of a total of 65 levels. Some paths are easier than others. Some paths are pretty difficult.

You might have missed the key for one of two reasons:
1) Like you said, the textures. Wolf3D had a light side and a dark side, but due to memory constraints, I had to eliminate this from Orb, so smaller coves can sometimes be difficult to see.
2) Depending on the level, the path to the key might have been blocked until you reached a certain other part of the map. Orb has the concept of spawning guard while the game is in progress and has invisible touchplates that can build and/or destroy walls. Depending on what map gave you problems with the key, it might have been hidden until you played a different part of the map.

Some levels have more MP than others. The mapper also added a few tricks that can make you waster your MP unnecessarily. Just as a warning. :)

Thanks. I hope you enjoy the rest of the game. Many people have told me that the first two levels are the two weakest and that relying on melee lasts a bit too long. It wasn't something we noticed while testing. Maybe some future edition will have a re-imagining of the first two levels or something, maybe not.
