Rayman 2 had an interesting history and a magical soundtrack

That music that played in the portals Worlds * - *

Robots Pirates pit of nightmares, that phase of running on the cliff with them shooting * - *

Just me who prefer a rayman that style than these current?
I wouldn't say it's just you, but personally I like these newer 2D Rayman titles more than I did the 3D ones, like the one you mentioned (which I only played on the Nintendo 64). I don't think most games that started being 2D translated that well into 3D, when the 3D craze came along, and though Rayman 2: The Great Escape is by no means a bad game, it certainly isn't as good or as charming as Rayman 1, and that's why I think Ubisoft took the series back to the drawing board and made Rayman a 2D platformer once again.

Nothing wrong with liking Rayman 2 (or even 3), it's a pretty cool game, just not as good or fun as its' 2D counterparts.

Rayman 2 was my favourite out of the series.

You summed up what I was thinking. Thank you, now I don't even need to think about how to explain it. ^^

Rayman was my favourite Platformer when I was a kid. I really want to play it again tbh, but I have no idea where that CD is... but that's another story.

When I played Rayman 2 with a friend, I really disliked it. Looking back, it wasn't a bad game, but I still prefer Rayman 1 over 2.

And as groze said, Rayman works so well in 2D that bringing the franchise back like this was the best thing they could do. I don't remember enough about Rayman 1 to tell you if it's better than Origins, but I loved both of them when I played them.

Definitely.
