Lol, I'm continually amazed by the sheer play-value of a dollar on GOG versus anywhere else. Thanks guys.

(The promo pack only cost me around 60 bucks since I had some of the games already.)
The clash was great a few weeks ago, too. The fight was:

Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 (but PC) $40.19 versus 10 games from GOG $31.90.

You guess the winner... ;)
I dont know you. But sometimes I think in terms on how many gogs I can buy with what X game costs.
Fact: modern games have no soul.

Not exactly

There are still games coming out that have plenty of soul and love put into them by the developers, but these games come out very rarely

On topic though, I definitely agree

most of the games here on GoG have just crazy ammount of content, especially with the expansion packs bundled with them

Just the time I spent alone into HOMM3 and Painkiller, so much stuff to do, so much fun :)

Yeah you're right. It was a sort of exaggeration, but you know what I meant. Most games nowadays just feel stagnant and rehashed to the extent that I don't even want to bother with them. The early 90s-early 00s marked an era of really good gaming that I don't think we'll see again for a while. Hopefully it will happen sooner than later ;)

heh, it's not like the 90's were guilty free, There were Doom copies and Mario Clone/mascot wannabe's everywhere

Every generation there will be bad games and every generation there will be people who make good games

I intend to support those good people, and I want to but so far I can count the number of console games that I bought new this year on one hand that are worth paying full price for

I'm curious, which ones and why?

I do that too sometimes!
Looks like I'm not alone with this :-).

Well 3 come to my mind instantly:

NIER - Definitely the most underrated game this generation, and the biggest surprise for me, this is a very special game

Demon's souls Black phantom edition - Demon's souls Finally came to europe in a limited edition. DS is one of the best games on the PS3 and should not be missed by anyone

Castlevania lords of shadow: Huge castlevania fan, a definite step up from the previous 3D castlevania games, it's been 5 years since the last home console castlevania game, this was worth the wait

I have bought and played many games this year but these are the only ones I paid full price for

Those are some good choices! Too bad about them though, I think they've all been horribly overlooked.
is it really that amazing that a bunch of older games are cheap compared to relatively new releases?

No, it's disturbing that you can only get one new game for the price of a large amount of games here, hence positive comments.
Yes, I KNOW as much as you do that older games are supposed to be cheap, and still understand the reason for this topic. You have the right to not be enthousiastic about it, of course.

yeah, indeed

Many good games come out still but they arent worth full price

Fallout new vegas for example is awesome but is horribly unfinished, plagued with bugs and they are going to pump out DLC packs for it out of the ass

So I guess I'll just wait for the GOTY edition before I even look at it
