Baisicly I just signed up to groupees and purchased my first bundle from them.

2 of the games came with both steam and desura codes. Does that mean I have purchased four games and can giveaway the 2 desura codes on here? (I redeemed the steam ones)

Way I see it is that you bought one license of the game, redeemable on multiple platforms. Similar to buying a movie in DVD + BluRay format. Does that mean you bought one copy of the movie or two?
So baisicly no I cannot drop the desura codes on here then?
You purchased 2 copies of 2 games, one on steam and one on desura. Depending on the bundle, you may even have gotten a DRM-free version directly from them.

Technically you can give away the desura keys, although I don't know if Groupees has anything in it's T&C asking you not to.
A lot of people do gift their unwanted codes. Humble Bundle explicitly allows for this with their gift this to a friend link even though you'll have the game in your library if it's DRM-free.
So, up to you. If you're not going to use them, why waste them?
As JMich stated above, if you're only ever going to watch the Blu-Ray of the your movie, what will you do with the DVD?
So I'm good to drop the codes then and its all legal and moral?
I always gift or trade stuff, but you're not supposed to.
If you redeemed the Steam codes yourself or downloaded the DRM-free version, you shouldn't give away the Desura codes. Of course nobody can prevent you from doing so, but in a long run It only leads to more and more developers not giving the customer a choice any longer (which means Steam-only bundles).

Why not copy and give away DRM-free GOG installers? Because you paid for one licence and not for two or more.

Your mileage may vary, but I always try to respect the terms of the seller. I'm getting a great bargain when I buy a bundle, so they deserve to have me honor their rules.

Overall I give away the codes in a bundle that I don't want. If I redeem a code on Steam, even if it's available on multiple platforms, I consider the code used in all its formats; if there's a Desura code as well, I just let it alone. I know that may not be strictly necessary, but it's what I consider right.

The way I see it, they wanted to cater to the Steamers by giving them a key otherwise "STEAM OR NO BUY", so I can't really respect that position. A Steam key has very little value to me, so off it goes.

Read the terms and conditions. The answer should be there. If it's not, send an e-mail to their support.

Like someone said above, Humble Bundle explciitly allows and enables re-gifting of Steam codes. I don't know about other sites, though. Personally, I only re-gift if I already own the game, which has only happened to me once.

Hmmm, good point. I didn't think of it like that.
Although, come to think of it, I haven't been separating keys when I've been trading or gifting. All the games are either unwanted or spares. Huh, my subconscious must have been managing my conscience. ;)

so that settles it. Even though I would only gift desura duplicates and never trade still I shouldn't do it as it is wrong.

Cheers for the advice peeps :)

Same here.
