For virtualisting 9x you can do it with MS VirtualPC 2007 (have to use 2004 additions for 95 though)

VirtualBox doesn't come with support for 9x though there are instructions to kindof get it working

VMware probably would support it if it is an older version I have no idea though because I've never tried installing 9x in vmware

Qemu worked for 9x when I tried it a long time ago but its very slow if you dont have the acceleration installed (like me who didn't at the time)

CaveSoundMaster: For all you tech savvy people, i have a question.

I have an old PC right now, with windows XP, and seeing as many people have problems right now dealing with some older games that I don't have (most probably associated with 64 bit architecture) I wonder, would it be worth keeping the old PC when I finally decide to move on? I mean, aren't the problems mostly associated with operating systems, so that if I keep my XP I'll just switch to it, if I encounter problems, associated with newer systems? I wonder if one could have like a collection of old windows OSes (95, 98) on a modern PC for sake of old gaming...

Or would it be impossible, becouse old OSes won't recognize modern hardware, like new GPUs, multi-core processors etc.? Then again, how does Virtual Machine works, does it emulate hardware, like DOSbox?

I'm thinking, is it worth keeping an old PC when you move on to buy a new one... I know some people are glad to still have a 3dfx era hardware for example...
I keep my old ones until they're either really out of date or they die on their own. The kids get the hand-me downs 2 rigs back, but I keep the new build and the one it's replacing. Currently I have my newest rig running Win7 64 bit and my older rig has XP Home. I've got them networked (each with their own screen) and use Synergy to operate both with one KB and Mouse. Currently I haven't run into any older games that I can't play on the Win7 rig, but the XP rig is there if I ever do encounter that situation.

So yeah, I'd recommend hanging on to the old rig if it's not a hassle finding room for it to live alongside your new one.
