I noticed that German teenagers who use and/or abuse WhatsApp (or any other mobile instant messengers in that regard) started to have a behavioural shift towards recording messages instead of typing them.

They are sending wave or mp3 files to their communication partner.

Do you think this is an improvement over the lazy *OMG*SWAG* <3 internet language they have developed?
Do you think this is a trend or rather an exception I have noticed?
Have you made similar observations?
What do you think will happen after that development?
