Hey all, is anyone else's Steam downloading a 2 GB update for NWN 2 Platinum?

It's just you. There's nothing in the Steam news about it and I'm not getting it. So maybe your files got trashed?

From what I can tell from the Steam forum for Nwn2 it must be a Steam error of some kind and NOT a patch or something extra like a new campaign. It seems there is no fix for it yet and others have have this happen more than once that Steam begins to DL a 2gb update. Hmm, I was planning of playing Nwn2 Premium soon but I guess I will wait until this is fixed.

Sometimes Steam updates games for no reason at all. It has happened to me several times, although the downloads were small in my case.

Just go into properties for the game and disable automatic updating. Problem solved.

FYI, recent changes to Steam mean that this no longer prevents updates indefinitely. It can now result in updates simply being queued until you go to run the game.

I don't want to open another topic, so does anyone know if Mysteries of Westgate from GamersGate is somehow playable if I use Steam's NWN2 Platinum edition? I don't have a GG account, so I don't know if I can actually download and keep the game (GOG-style) from GG.

Read the Steam forums for NWN. I'm pretty sure some people reported there that they had success installing the version of MoW from D2D with Steam. GG's version must be the same.
