Has anyone had difficulty using PayPal to order?

I bought a VISA gift card to purchase games here but it was declined. In fine print the card said it could only be used in the U.S. which is a problem.

Fine, so I used the same card to set up a PayPal account. Everything looks fine with the PayPal account including the card verification process. There's also plenty of balance on the card for the game I want to buy.

But when I try to use the PayPal option at checkout it goes to PayPal, I login, it shows me the order, it looks correct, I hit the confirm button or whatever, and it goes back to GOG saying the transaction was declined.

I really want to order some games here for my netbook. I bought the VISA gift card for that express purpose. But I just can't figure out how to get it to work. I sent two messages to support but it's been days and I haven't got anything back.

Any other suggestions?

If it is stated that the company mus be in some form based inside US, then yes, you have a problem. Notwithstanding the fact that some banks will not permit you to buy things from companies that have servers based in Cyprus (as is the case here). That's because of the multitude of card frauds that can be traced back to Cyprus.

If you can send funds to someone else via paypal, then in a nutshell you could try to ask someone to gift you the games in exchange for something else, like paypal balance or counter gift. It's crude, but a lot of people do it here, if for nothing else than better deals on region based sales.
You could try contacting GOG.com support or your bank, or try ordering without using PayPal and entering your card info.

But I don't think the restrictions on the gift card should extend to the paypal account I'm using right? I mean, paypal is U.S. based. And I already verified the card which entails paypal putting a small ($1.95) on the card with a code# attached to the card description. That all worked perfectly.

I tried contacting GOG support when I had the gift card problem but didn't get a reply so after a day I looked through the forums and saw other people had problems with the foreign transaction limits on some of the VISA gift cards too.

That's when I opened up the new PayPal account. But then when that didn't work either I sent GOG support another message asking for help. I still haven't gotten a reply from either message.

So that's why I'm hoping to get help in the forums.
