taczillabr: Do you have a direct link, for purchasing the emulated games?
Here is the link to Commodore Gaming. They cover iPhone and Wii at the moment. They've also got a Java version on their site for some games.

As for the profits, there's no hope of the developers seeing any money from the games Commodore are currently selling. So the deal with Necomer devs would have to be a separate matter.

I don't know how legal existing emulators for the C64 are.

Thank you.

Odd choice, supporting the Wii; afraid of piracy on the PC maybe? And they still don't have an U.S./Americas page at the beginning.

Yeah most devs are probably dead, but if GOG could find them (actual people, not the old days' company) and have a slice for them it would be nice. GOG isn't charity though, I know.

I too don't know how legal is packaging C64 emulators with a game, that's why I'm interested. Would like to purchase some to play on PCs, legally.

I think that they support the Wii because of the number of old games from other systems already on the Wii. Meaning there's already a marketplace for those games. So maybe if they knew about GOG they'd consider it.

Given that GOG have Strategy First on board - a company that doesn't pay developers even when they're legally obliged to - I doubt they're concerned with anything more than ensuring that everything is legal and above board. Well, at least as far as GOG's concerned.

An emulator's legality would depend on whether or not it uses proprietary code in there. In the case of the Commodore 64 there's the possibility that it includes some Basic in there.

Indeed, a good number of old games from different platforms, on the Wii. GOG is big enough already, as you said maybe they just don't know about its existence.

Didn't knew you need a license/whatever for stuff in BASIC.
