After finishing the fifth one a mere few hours ago, I could care less. It wasn't a terrible game, but the loftiness of 1-4 was never matched. I promptly uninstalled it after I finished it in 10 hours. Short but relatively sweet. But if they take inspiration from 5, and further move away from RE's roots, then the game is dead to me. RE5 was the first RE that was not scary in any single way. Heck, it wasn't tense as well since you could essentially be a one man army in the later stage of the game.

Since the developer specialises in militaristic games, I can't see myself ever playing the game at all.

KneeTheCap: Am I the only one who didn't like RE4? I absolutely loved all the Resi's until the RE4 came out... In my eyes, the series died there...

Haven't played RE5 yet, but it seems to be pretty much like 4...
Nope I'm the same, the second game is my favourite in the series and 4 and 5 just moved too far away from what I consider to be what resident evil is about. Had they called it by some other name I don't think anyone would have noticed.
We are entitled to our opinion, are we not?

Maybe I should elaborate. I didn't like RE4 gameplaywise, nor the story. In my eyes, it's not a Resident Evil game. It's "over-the-shoulder action game", not survival horrorish, like the previous installations. It doesn't even have Zombies...

I'm not saying that game series shouldn't evolve, not at all. But if the game is going to be a sequel to previous game in specific franchise, then it would be unwise to differ too much from the path...

But, that is only my opinion though.
