A revolutionary soccer game has arrived to fuel your nostalgia. The title is best known in the US, but the screenshots should strike a chord in many European gamers' memories as well.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/vr_soccer_96]VR Soccer '96, as you can guess from the title, is a soccer game and the first title of its kind to feature full 3D graphics. The creators of this game exchanged pre-drawn sprites on a static, scrolling field for a dynamic camera system which more than made up for the somewhat blocky models. An interactive commentator and the ability to create your own team made the experience even better. The gameplay is as fun as in any modern football game, especially when you play with or against your friends. The game supports hotseat as well as online multiplayer modes, through an emulated modem connection.
I think this game called Actua Soccer in Europe. I remember playing this when I was at twelve, anyway I hope more Gremlin soccer and management games will come to GOG like Premier Manager 98 and 99. I loved them so much. Thanks.

+1 bro
As a gamer who stays home 99% of the time, this is a welcome addition to my list of games I can play to pretend I'm having fun outdoors.
I'm not really interested in sports games, I more like doing sports in real life than on my computer screen. However, I am more excited about Gremlin Interactive here at GOG! Hardwar! Lotus! Does this mean there might be a chance we'll see those soon? ;)
burrrrr...a football game?.
Hopefully, there will be something more interesting on thursday.
Soccer! Too bad I don't care for it at all...
What happened to the Coming Soon list? At least, there was something to look forward to (and to avoid disappointments like this one today - at least for me, of course). I think GOG needs new partners (or new game deals for the existing ones).
Ahhh Soccer, or football, or whatever it is called in your country of origin. Generally, not a fan of sports games, even for a nostalgia feeling. But the 'sports' category could really do with some more expanding.
I did quickly notice the GOG staff names/alias' in the screenshots though :)
Are there other sports games on GOG? Remembering that pinball is NOT a sport. I think I had this back in the day, can't remember if I liked it or not though

Bizzare!
I was only looking at Actua Soccer 3 yesterday on some wiki page and remembered it being a very fast football sim.
Took a long time to master, but was brilliant fun with two players.
I'm tempted to get this, but I only have one controller pad....
Does anyone know if you can play this across a LAN ?
