You have no idea how excited I am about this!
Instabuy.

stonebro: Like every other game in the Activision catalogue, I won't buy it.
Yet.

Since it's obvious I'm going to want every game in the Activision catalogue anyway, I'm simply saving it until the end of the month to just buy all of them in one go. Saves me all the typing in of VISA card numbers. And a few pennies worth of international transaction fees.
Awesome! I'll definitely be getting this one.
But two questions:
1. This is the D3D version, right? It doesn't look like the software version I remember. So I'm hoping so.
2. Will there ever be a soundtrack for this? Never before has the need for the soundtrack been so great.

You tease, you!
No soundtrack? Considering it's one of the best soundtracks ever used in a game, that's quite a bummer.

No idea about the D3D version. The game comes with two sets of links: with Glide or without it. Glide version runs in 640x480. Without it, the textures look pretty crappy, but the game runs in 1024x768.
Edit: if you edit the shortcuts you can get D3D too, but it runs in 640x480, and the textures are worse than in the Glide version.
Glide: 640x480
D3D: 640x480, blurry textures
No acceleration: from 320x240 up to 1024x768, crappy textures

Ah, thank you. I was hoping both where possible in the same mode. :D Maybe there's a way of editing that. Still, in the meantime, remembering what the textures were like, I'd probably be best off with the Glide version.
Graphics are a mess.

Though, usually only the cars look like that and everything else is fine. Still unplayable.
Glide version just says failed to initialize 3D acceleration.
Windows 7 64-bit.

The Glide version worked fine for me (Win7 32bit, with WinXP compatibility mode on). Just took a long while to start.
Edit: Meh, crashed after the first mission's salvage section.

Is your GPU on LSD or something? D:
Tried different compatibility settings but it still says the same thing and crashes. Maybe it's a Windows 7 issue.

I wonder if GOG are testing for Windows 7 compatibility now? As they still only claim to support XP and Vista.
Currently at 30% of download. Another 30 more mins before the dl is complete. Can't wait :(
Sound in the trailer is all messed up... much clipping.
And yes, this game definitely needs a soundtrack extra. Along with No One Lives Forever, XIII and Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy one of the most stylish soundtracks a videogame ever had. Although I personally don't care as I have the original of this game :P
Still going to buy it sooner or later though, as I never had the Nitro Pack.
