It's been ages since we last released a racing game. To make up for it, we're giving you a truly unforgettable one. We're sure that you've at least played the demo and can't wait to top your best times from ages past.

Moto Racer is a racing game that comes in two flavors. It offers a superb blend of lightning-fast superbike racing and hairpin curve-infested motocross events. It's got a bunch of nifty features, like two driving models (arcade and simulation), vivid graphics that look pretty nice even today and a broad selection of motorcycles to choose from. But all these look pale when compared to this game's sheer fun factor, which will make you want to keep on playing and will burn itself into your memory forever. And this is exactly what made it an instant classic, especially on the PC.
Fun game. Already have CD from years ago, but this is a fun/addicting game.
I still have this on Disk but still insta-purchased it. I loved this game - played quite a bit on LAN with co-workers at the time. I got it free bundled with my Diamond Multimedia Riva 128 4MB, Nvidia's first decent graphics card. I'm pretty sure it was also bundled in Diamond's Monster 3D "Voodoo 1" 4MB 3DFX add-in board as well.

The game originally was a mixed-mode CD with Redbook audio and this release includes the music in uncompressed *.wav format without the need for a disk - a nice touch.
Purchased and enjoying!

One downer...
it doesn't appear to detect d3d and is stuck in software mode :(

I'm sure the GOG team or Forum Boffins will find a way though.
Ah. I'd have posted sooner, but I was away all day yesterday, and when I came home, I spent a little under 7 hours playing Poker Night at the Inventory. I literally played without intermission until I had all five of the TF2 items. I don't do that sort of thing very often at all, what with my lamentably short attention span, and I didn't even really care about the items (I haven't played in weeks, I was in no rush), but it turns out, believe it or not, that games of chance can be addictive. I mean, who would've thought, right?

Anyways, one genre that I love, and that I've so far avoided on GOG, is racing games. Megarace and Flatout don't interest me (though I've thought about Screamer a few times), and besides all that, I have no shortage of racing games, believe you me. I have virtually no racing games on PC worth noting, though I've enjoyed Trackmania well enough (and that's free). I may consider picking up one of these games some time.

Good to see gog adding some less comical racing games.. I've never been good at bike racing, but add GTR, GTRII, or GT Legends, and i'll be plunking down another 10, 20, or 30 bucks =)
Wohoo! This will be great to buy for myself for Christmas. :D

I'm glad I had ice in my stomach and didn't buy this very fun racer game when it was released on another site.

Now I only wish for Screamer 2. That and Moto Racer are my absolute favourites among classic racing games. Can't believe how many hours I used to play them. :)
this is rather strange...

my friend told me that when he played Moto Racer back in the days the motocycles had 6 gears, and now (in gog's version) they only have 5.

any idea why is that? :D
Is this v3.22? I digged out the game the other day and D3D was working. I'm pretty sure the GOG release should be fine as well at least in theory?

Also, it just mentions single-player on the page. The multiplayer mode is not supported?
Very cool game. Able to de-stress :) I look forward to the next part (in my opinion the best in the whole series)

RottenRotz: exactly..meh..you know what would be more fun?ha?ha?road rash.now thats racing game
I never got into the whole racing genre much. I just don't handle the cars that well in some of those games it seems. If the controls are really good and turning a bit doesn't cause my car to veer uncontrollably into the side banks or hay stacks then i'm fine with the game.
Yes! The first new release on this website that I can say I owned on CD before it was put here. Great game, this. Definitely worth six dollars.
Finally a new racing game! I played the sequel to this game years ago, before Gran Turismo consumed my childhood.

I really hope GOG starts adding racing simulators to their lineup. Grand Prix Legends, Richard Burns Rally, Supercar Challenge, etc. The PC platform always gets the best sims of every type!

I had a version of MotoRacer once. I believe that there are options for both OpenGL (specifically the VooDoo's GLide) and DirectX (3 or 5 IIRC). I believe it was bundled with the Diamond Monster 3D or Nvidia Riva or TNT chipset (NV3, I think). I'm sure I used to have multiplayer races over IPX on my smokin' hot 10 base 2 network. That's BNC cables, T connectors, and terminators for you young 'uns. Not quite as spiffy as Token Ring, but serviceable just the same.
