A handful of you guys got it right in the Facebook survey: The newest addition to the EA part of the GOG.com catalogue is Lands of Lore 1 and 2 for only $5.99.

In [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/lands_of_lore_1_2]Lands of Lore 1: The Throne of Chaos your main objective is to stop the Dark Army led by the evil sorceress Scotia. You’ll need to save the life of Gladstone Keep monarch, King Richard (voiced by The Patrick Stewart) who was poisoned by the shape-shifting witch. Your party of up to three heroes will embark on an epic quest to find the cure. Choose from four different characters, a dragon-lizard hybrid Dracoid named Ak’shel who specializes in spellcraft, a human-feline hybrid--a Huline, as they’re called in the Lands of Lore universe--named Kieran, and two humans: the warrior Michael and the jack-of-all-trades Conrad. There is no typical levelling system in place, instead the game uses a skill-centric approach. Performing melee weapon attacks increases the fighting skills, and casting spells boosts your magic stats.

Lands of Lore 2: Guardians of Destiny takes the dungeon crawling experience you love and evolves it into the third dimension with real-time 3D graphics. This time you are Luther, the son of main villainess from the first Lands of Lore game. Your mother left you with a gargantuan task to perform: tame the God of Evil, Belial, whose revival rituals were started by your mother. With the gift of shapeshifting and another god’s help (Draracle, the keeper of Belial) it’s your job to stop the annihilation of the world as we know it. Although you’re the son of a master villainess, you don’t have to be evil; the story will let you choose your destiny as you interact with the world and decide whether to be a hero championing the cause of good, or a villain who wants to rule the world in an iron fist.

TrIp13G: So since we now have Lands of Lore, I was wondering if anyone could confirm who owns the rights to Eye of the Beholder. Is it still Hasbro, since it's based on AD&D, and the Forgotten Realms universe?

ZapMcRaygunn: I believe Atari holds the rights to all the D&D games at this point, including those from Interplay and probably those from SSI. SSI is long gone, but it had some great games including the D&D games and some non-D&D games such as the excellent "Prophecy of the Shadow".
the name ssi is gone but they fused with mindscape who then joined forced with ubisoft.

The mere mention of Prophecy of the Shadow makes me happy. Glad someone else recalls that great game. So difficult but so worth it at the end. (Just don't put the Shadow Sword in the backpack.)

Also I saw someone say Kyrandia is affirmed. Is this true? I'll buy those day one, some of the best adventure games ever especially part 2.
Lands of Lore 1 is one of my all time favorite games... 2 was ok. I played it, didn't really get into it, and it become incredibly difficult as some sections to the point I quit in frustration. I was also younger so I don't know if was just my ineptitude, but the underground portion after a cemetery was just killer.
I took a break from playing Skyrim to visit GOG, and I'm so glad I did! This is an amazing surprise, the first installment of these games is one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. I'm gonna buy this right now.

Sargon: Hmm, Lands of Lore 1 + 2 for 5,99$? I think that is too expensive, these games are old. What you should do is include the Command & Conquer series with this then it would be worth it. The future of digital distribution is targeted, cheap, high-quality, fast and incongruous entertainment with a payload. While GOG by large has done a lot they have to look themselves in the mirror and smell the times. It is big dog eats small dog eats tiny dog and it's no Christmas carol out there. What I think should be done is
Actually I'm just talking crap. This release is great value for money, I'm not sure how many cents you pay pr hour but it can't be much. I would have bought this if I didn't have so many great RPG's in and outside of my backlog. Well, maybe when I'm sixty-four :-)

MichaelPalin: Arghhh!!, I hate EA.

I really want to buy these games. Only played LOL2 for a few minutes, but for all I know of them, they are basically Westwood at their finest, and Westwood is what my gamer dreams are made of. But EA is getting increasingly antagonistic and it is really hard for me to give them money in any form. Anyway, I'll pass for now and decide again when I have time to play the games.

Sargon: Hey I don't like EA either but these game look cool. You know what we'll do? You give me your credit card and I'll tie you up and blindfold you. You get the games and keep a clear conscience. What do you say?
Don't worry , I use an imagined evil twin for that. I know I'll buy LoL eventually, but more EA games unless I intend to play them.
Thanx GOG team again for another title.
I just grabbed this because it installs the whole game (LOL2) on the hard drive. I have a glide dos version working already. I'm trying to get your version to do the same but something is throwing it.
I'm using a couple of wrappers and the Ykhwong enhanced dosbox. I think I'll eventually get it.
It really should run hardware acceleration and/or windows...

You should contact gog support for this, I don't think any of gog will read this post by now (I only read it because you seem to have replied to me or something).
Ran into an unfortunate problem with the GOG edition of LoL1:TToC. Certainly not gamebreaking, but unfortunate nonetheless:

In Castle Cimmeria Level 1, there are at least two "gates" which you can never pass. In the original version you can either throw an object or shoot an arrow/star through the gate to hit the buttons on the other side, but in the GOG edition the projectiles are stopped by the gates.

IIRC, there are some good weapons on the other side which you cannot get to until this is fixed. Additionally, there is a door in the NW corner of the same map (Castle Level 1) that no keys I've found will unlock. Whether they lie beyond the gates, or I screwed up somewhere, or this door never opened to begin with (such is the jammed door, also coincidentally in this level) is beyond my expertise/memory.

I do know that the gates projectile thing is a legit problem, and while it really doesn't affect the overall game, it's something I feel should be fixed. Particularly in this type of game, when people want to "finish" or at least find every item/map, it's a bit disappointing. AFAICT, this is the only "gap" on my maps other than Catwalk 2, which I'm pretty sure was another area left unfinished in the original.

Anyway, keep up the good work guys.
Guys try setting blur OFF (In game hardware options) , im testing diffrent configs and it fells little faster
