We present the first attack helicopter simulator on GOG.com - Enemy Engaged: Apache vs Havoc by Razorworks is now available for only $5.99.
Enemy Engaged: Apache vs Havoc, as the title suggests, features the proven and deadly AH-64D Apache Longbow and its Russian counterpart, the formidable Mi-28M Havoc B. It delivers a great compromise between realism and fun, meaning it's neither so complicated to become bothersome for the casual gamer, nor so simple that it doesn't provide a challenge. The game lets you take part in a dynamic campaign in one of three hypothetical war zones and, for instance, lets you join your wingmen in the middle of their mission. One of the game's key features is the multiplayer mode, which allows you to contribute to the war effort alongside your friends.
A heads up for people before they leap on this purchase -
This is an incredibly hardcore sim that is very hard to play without a joystick.
Secondly, it's worth holding out to see if GOG manage to snap up Comanche vs. Hokum, which has both more interesting campaigns and can be linked with AvH to offer all choppers on all campaigns.
**Updated for clarification**
Sorry if I wasn't clear - I didn't mean too say 'don't buy this game if you don't have a joystick' and have edited the above text to make it a bit clearer, but the game is awkward to play with a digital controller input. Your helicopter essentially 'wobbles' along as you have to tap 3-4 buttons to maintain a steady course.
Basically, I got a Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 a month after buying CvH and it made it much more palatable and fun.
Anyone know if it works with a 360 controller? :)

Thats odd. It seems that I must have missed that "hardcore" part when I plqayed this game for the firs time... without a joystick... when I was still in primary school. ;)
As it is a simulator of a flying machine should you play it without a joystick you'll be missing out on some of the fun. ;)
Anyway this game is great due to its dynamic campaigns and missions and I'm having a great playing it again. :)
True, with some patience and training, it's relativelly easy to play Apache vs Havoc on keyboard.
YES. THANK YOU.
I'm a huge flight sim fan, and the lack of a combat sim in recent memory (read: doesn't suck) that I've enjoyed makes me long for this even more. Time to dig out my worn joystick to play some old-fashioned sims!
Oh, and FSX sucks.
double yew zero zero tee!
Just dropped some cash on this baby, shall also forward the gamecard link to a mate who's just been talking about wanting a chopper game.
Is the multiplayer coop or competitive?
As for the controls, naturally it'd be better with a joystick, the same goes for Freespace or any other flight sim. I tried to play TIE Fighter with a mouse once when my joystick broke, BIG mistake.

As I don't have a console I'm not used to that kind of controler, though I've just managed to apply large quantities of destruction to my airfiled with a 360 game pad.
I've just scanned through the manual and hit the Ground School chapter. It teaches you the principles of lift! GOD I miss manuals like this!
WOW. Great release. Now, please release EECH... AH is good, but CH is fantastic.
If you release both here, I promise to buy both. ;-)

This is a really nice game. Dynamic campaigns, nice difficulty level (not arcade, not insanely hardcore sim). The ability to link it up with CvH is really nice too.
I do wish it had slightly more complex ground terrain though (to hide behind!)
I agree that a joystick is almost essential. I've tried playing games like this and freespace with a dual-analogue controller (or god forbid a mouse) and its doable, but it isn't half as immersive and fun.
Awesome game though!

You are able to pilot your attack heli with XBox 360 game controller. I believe that that is what you've asked. ;)
