The Evil is back! Thanks to the sequel to the acclaimed Dungeon Keeper you can be even nastier.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dungeon_keeper_2]Dungeon Keeper 2 is Bullfrog’s second take on the masterpiece blend of real-time strategy with elements of sim, RPG and first person action game. Once again you take the role of the main Bad Guy. You have to build an underground empire, set deadly traps, recruit armies of brainless minions, and show the good-natured (bleh!) heroes where their place is: six feet under! And with even greater selection of traps and monsters it's now easier than ever. So train your army well (or slap them into submission) to expand your evil empire from the undergrounds to the realms above.
I played the first one when I was a wee little lad... loved it. More of it with better graphics? Sign me up! And also give me money!

MGShogun: Gotcha, thanks for the replies.

Much appreciated it. :D
Better off with 2... the GOG version of 1 is a bit on the ugly side as it uses the older, lower res DOS version of the game. 2's also a bit more accessible.

I'm tempted despite owning 2 copies already but given that the game still seems to have the same old problem..... I'm gonna hold out. GoG's standards seem to have gone down a little since taking on EA.

Okay I'm tempted to get this but I have a question does anyone who played it prior think anything is missing IE expansions? (I've never played it)
OMFG. Best day ever. Thank you so much, GOG.

PirateNeilsouth: Gog didn't even fix the game just used the CD version and 1.7 patch, won't buy it yet...
Confirmed. DON'T BUY THE GAME YET, atm it's bugged to hell and back.
Wow I was pumped about this, but if it's just the buggy retail version i've already spent hours trying to get working correctly i'll be saving my $5.99.
Still an instant buy for me - bugs will get squashed so they better watch out lol

Same thing here. I'll wait until GOG provides a fixed version. I already have the original on CD (and the patches), and that only works fine on older systems (WIn98 till WinXP).

That's always the case. Most of the time Mr. Gog doesn't have access to source code because the original source has long ago been lost to the mysts of time.

Sigh. You have tried the alt + r resolution switch, right?

I've played the gold version with 3d acceleration and quite frankly it's not that much better looking than what Mr. Gog released.

Also, this is GOG, not BNRaMoOCG*.

Holy crap I was hoping they would get DK2! Just bought and downloaded but I can't play because I'm at work :( I think DK2 is infintely better than DK1.

Well, excuse me, but:

"4. All games are Vista and XP compatible.

Thanks to our handsome programming team, the classics are now Windows Vista and Windows XP compatible. Now you can use your lightning-fast PC to unleash the full potential of those games you just couldn't play properly on that busted old 386."

(c) GoG.com "About Us" section
As much as I like the game, if you have the CD version, there is no need to get this one on GOG. Nothing has been improved and the game is exactly the same as the CD version.

I'd hoped they would at least fix the graphical issues and add some real high resolution support. But no, this is quite lazy. But I shouldn't expect any different as DK1 was a botched release too (no D3D and Deeper Dungeons).
The biggest problem with the DOS version of DK1 was the AI [imp path finding and priorities], not the graphics actually. The Windows version didn't have that issue.
Bit disapointed it has alot (if not all) of the same problems as a patched 1.7 install but that stuff can be fixed

If you guys are gonna fix this please give consideration to the 3 bonus packs

Am I the only one getting the feeling GOG sold its soul to EA?
