It's been a while since we've last released a racing (or rather driving) game on GOG.com and we want to make up for it by giving you one of the coolest titles of its kind, especially if you're into the '70s.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/driver_parallel_lines]Driver: Parallel Lines, also known simply as Driver 4, is the latest installment of the acclaimed Driver series. Unlike its predecessors, the gameplay takes place in an open-world environment, plus there are quite a few improvements including fully modifiable vehicles and destructible objects like lamp posts or fire hydrants. Most of the story takes place in the late '70s, augmented by an awesome selection of funky tunes. In this installment you're playing as a young upstart wheelman called TK, or "The Kid". While working his way up the ladder, you find yourself neck-deep in trouble. If you wanna know more, you'll just have to play the game, hit the pedal to the metal and see how it goes from there.
Finally, some new stuff from Ubisoft. Hey, I hope all Drivers reach gog.
:)
I may get this one, eventually.
Pfft, just gimme the first Driver...
Holy crap!
What about Driv3r? Wait, that wasn't any good.
Huh, never got round to playing this installment of Driver, is it any good?
Only remember playing Driver 1, didn't even know we had more after the weak effort of #3.
This one looks interesting enough to look into a bit more though.

I agree with this. The first game was exceptionally good (if stupidly difficult in places). The second one was console-only and wasn't quite as good. Driv3r...well, we won't go there. Driver 4 did fix a number of issues from Driv3r but still wasn't really all that great.

Not really.
Best game in the driver series, 2nd best is the first one.

A huge improvement over Driv3r. Which means it's playable.

I once played Driver 76 on the PSP and even that was better than Driv3r.
I'm rubbish at driving games, I couldn't even get past the initiation in the car park in Driver 1.
i thought the franchise was towed away and cubed after number 3.

I think number 5 is in the works.
I did enjoy playing through this one in small doses. While nothing special (i would rate it around 70%), it's much better than 3, which isn't saying much, although that was almost playable with the patches.

Me too. I rememer there was a hack for the PC version so you could skip it and go straight to the missions.

I'd love Driver 1 (possibly in a pack with 2). But yay for more Ubisoft-stuff.
