Revolution Software makes its second appearance in our steadily expanding games catalogue. Once more you can help George and Nico unravel a terrifying conspiracy, for only $5.99.
The third game of the series, Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon offers more of what you can expect after playing the previous part but adds a modern twist. The graphics are 3D, but lose none of the class and style from The Smoking Mirror. The controls stray away from the good old point-and-click scheme, instead adding TPP-style movement. The plot, however, remains just as involving and suspense-building as you may remember, as our heroes once again join forces in a globetrotting adventure.
Great!
Will be getting this tomorrow, remember it being pretty good.
Some more screenshots for the undecided...
When you play the game do yourself a favour and visit your gfx driver's settings panel. The requirements for BS3 are low, so even a mid-range PC should be able to do 4x antialiasing on 1024x768 which adds tremendously to the (already very good) graphics. However there's no ingame option, so you'll have to do it through your drivers.

oh snizzle dude, at first I was kind of "meh" and now I'm like, "hellzya!"
I should add that I simply adore the graphics of BS3. This is how a game with handdrawn graphics should be converted to 3D:
Don't try some crude cartoon shader... instead, try to capture what the drawings would feel like if you were standing in them. Try to capture how the sunlight would gleam off buildings. How a cave would feel,,, hard to describe really, but BS3 does it perfectly.
Well, I will admit it: The 4x Antialiasing greatly helps the appearance of said game.
I still hold that the change in game mechanics/player-movement & interaction really lets this entry into Broken Sword fall down, the series is recovering though. Stay with it for the story/plot, as that at least remains up to standards.
And I certainly won't hold that against you... but while the box and sneaking parts are a pain, it would still be a shame to miss out on such an atmospheric game just because of that.
I played through the first chunk near when it was released at a friends, decided to skip the rest and not purchase for myself.
I'll probably still pick it up (I've played far far worse titles), as aside from those flaws, there is still a good game in there. But because of those issues, it's not a priority, and I've still got a bunch of stuff from here that I've yet to finish.
