If you’re a Myst fan, we’ve got a little treat for you today.

Behold [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/atlantis_the_lost_tales]Atlantis: The Lost Tales! You’re controlling Seth, selected as one of the Queen of Atlantis’ companions. The royalty is in danger and the newly found hero must save the day! The story is narrated via dialogues with various people you meet and cut-scenes, which do a very good job of supplementing the story and letting it blossom. The game consists of exciting exploration, clever quests, and challenging puzzles. Riddles are a common obstacle in the ancient land of Atlantis, but they’re not a radical pixel hunt for the correct item which will solve the riddle.
Experience the carefully designed and crafted world of an ancient civilization. The 360 ° look camera showcases the beautifully 3D rendered island of Atlantis. Take a stroll around the island to admire the breathtaking landscapes and landmarks. Find out the hidden mysteries, and overcome the challenges that await you. The whole Atlantis experience includes a sophisticated society, painstaking craftsmanship, imaginative inventions, and strange mythical equipment used by this ancient civilization.

Meet the magical civilization of Atlantis on GOG.com for just $5.99 today!

That would be great!

This would be even better: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1058777/ ^.^
The Neverhood + Skullmonkeys running in an emulator :))
I've never been into these kinds of games, but I'm happy for those who where looking forwards to it :)
Wow, this is so cool! Thanks, GOG. I mean - I really appreciated your efforts to release this little known predecessor to the better Atlantis titles from Cyro. After all, we've only seen the 2nd & 3rd instalments available digitally in many online stores, and the 4th one in some of them. The 2nd and 3rd ones, which are catalogued together as the whole "Beyond Atlantis" series seems to be the better reviewed of the first 4 Atlantis titles made by Cyro Interactive, and I can understand why - later below.

I'd used to play the PS1 version of this title a bit on the ePSXe emulator, but I was young, so the logic part of my brain was not fully developed for the highly-complex adventure games, especially in the 90's. Also, probably the PC version of this game controls differently to the PS1 port in that in the PC version may have a freeform mouse-controlled view movements, whereas the PS1 one is divided into maybe 8 angles in the horizontal eyesight view, plus I think up and down, too. You'd have to press some buttons to move your view around.

Wishbone: Oh dear. I must admit that this game is on my personal hate list. It has beautiful graphics, wonderful sound, and absolutely shitty gameplay. Also, some of the worst puzzle design I've ever seen. It was so bad that the developers themselves couldn't even explain the logic behind some of the puzzles.

I'm glad to see that some people enjoyed it, though.
Yes, I so agree with you. Continued below...

Then some years later, I'd wanted to play it again, and so I did. I finally succeeded in going through some environmental obstacles/puzzles, until I came to that dreaded flight-up-the-stairs puzzle. That's where if you don't make the correct movements and cut a rope, WITHOUT even looking back at the hostile guard at the bottom of the stairs who'd throw a knife at you if your eyesight view moves towards him, then you'll be throw-knifed to death. I died there too many times, so I downloaded a walkthrough, and it's helped me. There are just too many illogical, and badly-designed puzzles that this game deserves an abysmal rating.

Still, with a walkthrough, you can enjoy the ride much better, but you'll need to be aware of some timing-based puzzles (ie. the guard walking between two opposite ends of one line, and then you pass through), and the atrocious ones (being throw-knifed to death!). I didn't play much of the PS1 version, so now with this digital download, I wouldn't have to buy a big box from online, and will add to my collection of the Atlantis games. In fact, this 1st instalment is probably better to play than the 4th one! Don't forget that there's also a FIFTH one by Atlantis Interactive Entertainment, staffed by some former members of the Cyro Interactive team. But I haven't heard anything since from that team, so maybe they're gone, too... *sobs...

In a way, it was a walkthrough that finally made me quit the game. I was completely stuck on a puzzle, and went to Cryo's web site and looked at their own official walkthrough. When I saw what they gave as the solution to the puzzle, and how they described it, I uninstalled the game in disgust.
Ah, I bought this on disc long ago. I played Beyond Atlantis and loved it, and was so looking forward to this one. Alas, it is keyboard controlled, rather than point-and-click as the sequels are. Some of the puzzles are so delicately timed, and trying to navigate with the keyboard and avoid guards... Well, nope. Not for me. Kudos to those who can play it and enjoy it.
Thanks !!! One of my favorite games from early years. I loved the story, graphic (that was great at the time) nad of course the music !!! So also great thanks for adding the soundtrack in mp3s.

Now I guess it's time to add second part ;)

Yes, when I learnt of the solution to the first guard knife-throwing incident, I was completely disgusted, but still persisted with it a bit. Well, each to their own. I would still only give this game 2 stars here on GOG.com. The 2nd star is probably for the awe of exploring the well-crafted Atlantis, and the difficult but reasonable navigation that you would have to do there.

I've made a mistake in my previous comment here - on the PS1 version that I'd played you could move your view around with the keyboard (emulating the PS1's controller buttons). It's not mouse-controlled. Sorry about that.

It was the orrery puzzle that did it for me.

Aha! I remember that first orrery puzzle. Really, there was no hint to solving it at all, BUT I'd thought that the most logical solution for it was actually just to flatten up the different model pieces in the whole orrery into a linear position. And guess what? It worked!
