I didn't understand if Telltalle will release new KG games too or if Activision simply gave rights directly to Odd Gentlemen.
That is a weird choice for a developer for King's Quest.
I would assume that Telltale won't be making any KQs unless of course TOG makes some kind of crappy platformer set in the KQ universe.

If I don't remember well, even TT said the new KG was a rebbot (sorta), so maybe they just gave Odd Gentlemen right to develop those games, since they are doing Walking Dead Season 3, Borderlands, Game of Thrones and probably Wolf Among Us Season 2...

Telltale dropped their KQ project a long time ago.

Oh, didn't know that. So now they can be focused on producing tv serials without gameplay at all :D
