Adzeth: Tallin seems to know what he's talking about. Just stick to one PSU, even if having an additional PSU with shady qualities forever stuck on your table and having to keep your computer case open for the cords would be pretty unique and fashionable.
Aw... who am I kidding? I could never recommend function over fashion... just get the extra PSU already... ;)

He could put the cables into plastic tubes to get a proper steampuk feel.

And add a few bells and whistles (literally) and gears to the other plugs on the PSU, as well...

Fenixp: Another power supply for your graphics card would mean another power cord leading into your computer - I don't think you've ever seen something like that :-) Now it's not impossible, it's just fairly pointless. The power your power plug 'produces' is enough to keep several hi-end machines running - so don't worry about that, you just need to replace the origina power supply :-)
Apparently, the Voodoo5 6000 was meant to have worked like that. It never hit the market though. Although, when I first heard that the Voodoo5 series required a separate power connector (I had a Voodoo3 at the time), this is what I thought they meant (of course, the real meaning was that it needed to be connected directly to the PSU with a standard molex connector).
