Im kind of really getting into the earlier Spiderweb games because of the freedom you get to choose with character creations/lvls. (Currently playing Geneforge) and will likely play Avernum 2nd trilogy as well as it has the same features.

My question is Is NetherGate Resurrection Like Avernum 2nd Trilogy? Im not into the Avernum 1-3 and just barely completed Avernum Escape from the Pit because I didnt like the random encounters and thought the story was more solid with what I played of the demo in Avernum4.

I used to have a tough time with these games, but now that I know how they work, its a heck of a lot of fun planning your builds.

Never played Nethergate, but I can tell you this: There's a game on GOG called Sacrifice, and I think you should buy it. Trust me, it'll be one of the best things you've ever done.

It's more like Avernum 3, or rather Blades of Avernum (it uses its engine). Unlike the second trilogy this game has world map (like in old avernums and this new one as well). It's a fun game and has some replay value (some events plays differently depending on which side you choose). Also gameplay is different since Celts use more magic and Romans prefer military strength.
If you do buy it, you should get it directly from Spiderweb's website. Not only is it DRM-free, but the developer will receive the full sum of what you pay. Cut out the middle man.
Hmm.. I didn't know they sell it, thanks for the tip :P

Yeah, nevermind that it's thrice as expensive over there, it's for a just cause!

Obviously Steam is the worse thing that ever happened to Vogel, we need to save him from Darth Gabe.

Whoops, nevermind, I assumed that the prices were the same.

Yeah at $4 definitely get it, quite a steal at that price for how much content you get.
