Hello, this is another game hunt request,

The game I want to find is an old game from the era where you could find CDs with a few demos inside video game magazines, because that's how I played it back then (only the demo)
It was about mages, pretty sure it was 3D (at least, the camera was above the map kinda like isometric)
Maps were simple, go from point A to point B to progress to a new map. I don't remember much about the single player...
However, the game also featured a sort of deathmatch with other npc mages (Don't know if the game supports pvp) and that's where I have memories of the gameplay :

You had to unlock spells by capturing points/shrines, and the game featured a handful of summoning spells (spiders, skeletons...), my mind is blurred but I think the map for the deathmatch was a kind of dark forest/swamp.
I really wish I had more details to give you, but maybe that will be enough for you to give me new hints...
I already searched games through GOG and I don't think it is here, also tried to find the game by browsing old RPG demos but to no avail.

Na, thanks for the reply anyway.
The game had NO base building and NO creating unit as in the RTS sense. Purely your mage, you walked around the map casting spells and killing other mages. I'm trying my best to focus my poor dried up brain... If I remember correctly, there was no mana, just cool downs... although I'm not even sure about that! Argh!!! So hard to remember anything...

Why hasn't Licurg suggested Sacrifice here? Ts ts, never around when needed ;-P

It may not be the game you're looking for, but it plays like your description, thus you might like it.

Yes, he must buy Sacrifice, regardless of whether it's the game he's looking for or not.
Thanks for trying guys, but I've finally found it after browsing 50 pages of PC games by year, I hope it was worth it!
The game is called Magic and Mayhem: The Art of Magic
Apparently not the best game around, but I don't care =)

And now I also remember playing a Sacrifice demo, did not understand anything as a kid, might give it a try now because it seemed fun.

Now that's commitment, nothing like an oldie getting dug out from the meanders of time; congrats, enjoy and all that good stuff!

I have never played Sacrifice, what makes it so awesome?

Everything. Every single small piece is fantastic, and well crafted, from the gameplay, to the storyline, to the music . It's pretty much what all games should be like .

Apparently its actually the sequel / remake of plain 'Magic & Mayhem' too!
