Hello, GOG members. I come to you with a nostalgia-fuelled request involving a very old game that I used to play. What where better to ask about old games than a community dedicated to them?

does anyone know the name of and/or have download links for a very old game. I will describe it.

It's a third person fantasy RPG, and in the first town where you spawn, you can use a fireball spell to literally blow pigs up. One of the first missions involves destroying straw scarecrows. It's a very old game, might even be DOS. I remember playing it on my '98. Was a 3/4 disc game and if I recall correctly you can roam about freely too. There was raqce selection, and dwarves have the ability to plant bombs (which could also be used to victimise the pigs.

I know it's an extremely long shot, but no one has been able to help me, and I can't think of anywhere else to post

When you say it was third-person do you mean an actual "above the shouler" perspective or maybe isometric 3D? Is there anything else you remember? Some memorable things about the gameplay or visuals?
Isometric 3D game, and honestly no. this was a game I played almost 10 years ago, and even then it was old. I know it's a long shot
It's not Dink Smallwood is it? That's the first thing that pops in my mind.

Edit: Nvm, not 3D.

In terms of gameplay, however, it was quite similar to Lands of Lore III

I vaguely remember something like this... Was it turn-based or real-time?

Hmmm... This might be a long-shot but didn't one of the Heimdall games had a mission where you kill pigs?

Yeah, Heimdall also crossed my mind already, even The Immortal did. I'm competely lost with this little information given. Hope someone will come up with an answer. I'm really curious about it.

The Immortal also crossed my mind. I think it's either one of the Heimdall games, The Immortal or maybe Trial by Magic.

Yesss, I think you might be right...It was the training arena where the game taught you how to use the controls, ect. ie: the Tutorial (loved that game btw)

Here ya go, look familliar by any chance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYUvu8t3w9Y

Pigs and chickens in the pen were fair game to blow up, shoot, you name it....nuttin like some good ole farm carnage while learning the ropes

And hey, if you're feeling really nostalgic....have fun and knock yourself out: http://projectmagma.net/what/
