Vythonaut: As for the Anno 1404, apart from the amazon link, trentonlf posted, try these links:

There is even a double pack with 1404 and 2070 together, if you don't mind the DRM.

At this point i should mention that, regarding the 1404's DRM (Tages), the official patch removes it from the main game. I think the Venice Expansion still has it. Do a search before you buy it, if you're concerned. I have the main game only, didn't played the expansion yet..

Also, as I can see you're from USA, you could search the game with the title "Dawn of Discovery''. That's the American title.

Hope that helps. Cheers!
Wow, wonderful information! Thank you, and thank you trentonlf, as well! :D
Crazy Taxi
To be honest, the absolutely most relaxing/de-stressing/Zen-inducing game I know happens to be a Wii title: Endless Ocean Blue World. If you really need a virtual vacation, it provides it in spades.

If you're interested in FaeVerse Alchemy, I (hopefully) can get my hands on a 90% off coupon for you! Please let me know if you're interested!
If you have a 3DS/gamecube I'd recommend Animal Crossing. Super chill, no objectives really, just mull about in your town...

The new SimCity is kinda like that as well, just chill.

Ummm... Skyrim is peaceful, most Civ games are great as well... I just got into Galactic Civilization II and it's great so far.

Sorry to hear about the job thing, hopefully you won't be in that 20%.

But I highly recomend Animal Crossing New Leaf if you have a 3DS.

monkeydelarge: I can't believe I forgot this game. I agree with you about Euro Truck Simulator 2. The OP should definitely give this game a try.

katya_stevens: Adding another vote to this. ETS2 is my go-to de-stress game because it's so serene. When I'm stressed I found it very difficult to find a game because I didn't want anything that would have combat, require tactical thinking, or have any major fail conditions. That pretty much knocked out 90% of my gaming options
I second all these notions, plus the fact that I wanted something that I could fire up, play for a while and not have on my mind afterwards when it was time to return to the real world, so anything with so much as a hint of a storyline was out of the question. You can just complete a delivery and be done with the game for however long you need without having to remember anything about what you were doing or where you were going.

The online radio thing is genius, too, although it has indirectly resulted in me blowing a huge amount of money on music records over time.
Flower, by That Game Company was given to me when I was stressed out at work a few years ago. It's definitely calming. Plus, I'm the kind of player that likes to thoroughly explore every corner, so it was a good choice ; )
