I just got out a bunch of index cards as I'm starting to get a bit stuck. But, I've still got plenty of time to catch up over the rest of the month, provided I get a better idea as to where I'm going with my plot.

It's mainly about being forced to lose your identity physically and mentally and how the character deals with trying to live with the new situation and loss.
It would probably actually make a good "choose your own adventure" book because there are quite a few decisions the character could make along the way :P

EDIT: And, speaking from experience, if you say "I'll do it next year" you won't. I planned to do it "next year" starting in 2005. It's only this year that, literally, the day before NaNoWriMo I decided, "Fuck it! We'll do it live!"

I'm giving it a go myself. After two days, I've got 3515 words, and some of them are actually entertaining :-)
Ah, a month of literary abandon... just what the doctor ordered!

But yeah, (not to be offensive) but I imagine most people won't actually do it next year.

If I finish, I finish, otherwise I'll try again next year.
And yes, I think most folks that say that, don't actually follow through, but next year I should be in a better position in terms of planning.
