First-person cyberpunk shooter; typical cyberpunk scenario eg. futuristic city, large organisation 'controls' the population. You begin as a mechanic, learn skills and do jobs, in order to unlock areas of the city; eventually you go on an adventure which leads to to the derelict areas and must fight off the bad guys. Settings include the cityscape itself, offices, sewers, an aquarium, wherever a 'job' might land you.

Known for a glitch which stops the player going past a certain level. Development-wise, I'd put it on par with something like Reqium Avenging Angel, but with a more high-tech status. Name-wise I think it was called something complicated like Necrocyberphillaaliafhsdjkfh.... something like that. Please help if you know the name of this game!

Ah, I think I have a "winner": ReVOLUTION:

"A futuristic first person shooter where a mega corporation (known as 'The Corporation') seems to have taken over every facet of life. You start the game as a new janitor for The Corporation. Before long however, you find out that the corporation is up to no good. You then join the resistance (known as... you guessed it: 'The Resistance')."

"The most obvious “cut corner” in rushing Revolution to market is the lack of play-testing, as evidenced by a major bug that makes it impossible to get past a level several missions into the game unless you’ve installed the version 1.1 patch."

That's it!! And sorry - I didn't post this as a question, so you may not get the rep or points for it. But thanks man, played this ages ago and just couldn't seem to find this one... probably because of its extremely generic cyberpunkish style... thanks again!
Very interesting game, have to check up on it. That Neuro Hunter looked good as well.

Glad to be of help. I've used this short-list of 69 cyberpunk FPS games to delimit the search. Afterwards it's been not too difficult to find one that matched your description since I've been able to discard the ones I knew or had played myself.

Neuro Hunter has StarForce-DRM, if I'm not wrong, so take that into account if you are interested in acquiring the game.

My take was that it had cool weapons, nice settings and a fair bit of playability... but the enemies were a little samey and I think I got a bit bored towards the end, playing it with the intension of just wanting to complete it. Never did because of the bug, but it's worth checking out.

Nice one. It's a bit of a strange title, couldn't remember any "standout" moments in the plot or anything that made it stood up on its own specifically. There was a babe who helps you, a lot of corporate drones, and a pretty dreary storyline... it could really have done with a decent soundtrack. But there's definitely a bit of HR Giger appreciation in there which is always a good thing.

This is about as close to helping as I ever get.
