Hmmm... the only good things about those places were i got free floppy disks in the mail i could relabel and format for personal use... This was back in 1990-1995 before CD's were in heavy use as a storage medium.
Maybe we need to backtrack and go back to dialup. There was so much less spam when it cost you long distance charges... You ever get that? A disk from AOL that says:
TRY OUT AOL FREE FOR 8 HOURS! and of course it's a long distance number which cost more than the service to use...
