It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Most of GOG users spend their time on general discussion forum. My idea is to introduce forum view where you can see all topics from the forums you have selected at the same time and interact with them just like they are on one common forum.

Example: you selected "General discussion", "Age of Wonders" and "Disciples series" as your favorite forums - while switching to my idea view you will see one "forum" with:

some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some Age of Wonders topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some Disciples series topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
some Age of Wonders topic
some Disciples series topic
some General discussion topic
some General discussion topic
etc.

All in one view. When you reply to AoW topic it will be posted on AoW forum, when you reply to Disciples topic it will be posted on Disciples forum.

By using this view you can see the new topics/replies on other forums at the same second someone else posted something. This should greatly increase traffic (=usefulness) of other forums and you will not wait days (sometime weeks) to solve your problems.
I agree that the traffic on the subforums really needs to be increased, one way or another

Subforums like "Personal nightmare" for example are completely dead

While other ones like Earthworm jim or BLOOD get very few posts

Only extremely popular Subforums like HOMM3,BG2 or Fallout have new posts everyday
I wouldn't mind just having the usual phpbb- or invision-style forum index page with highlights of recent activity etc.
Like this, but with a bit more on top. http://combatace.com/index
They should also include a link to the subforums on the game page itself.

At least you have link on your account page when clicking the gamebox.
I would appreciate if they create a shortlink to the release threads in the subforums. Normally I search the subforums for informations (game recommendations, game options, hardware problems) and these threads are full of good informations. Here on the main forum they are after a while hard to find.

That's also a good idea. Reviews are in so I do not know why release topics are out.
Another idea: maybe it should at least notify me* if someone has posted in one of my favored forums so I could see that "little flag" on every GOG page? I think it would be ever easier to implement.

*) Just like today I am getting notification about PM / quotation of my post.

In the good old beta days. Before the dark times. Before the GOGpire. There was a very simple system whereby if a particular forum had a post you hadn't seen, it was highilghted in your preferred forum list. I miss this feature.

Or you can just look at the highlighs of your favored boards and see at a glance which of them have new posts/threads- not with IE9 though, i started using Chrome specifically for browsing gog because the highlights are f**ed up with IE9.

The feature is there, just doesn't work with every browser

As Namur says, it still does this.

That is a neat idea Lexor - i.e. the personal unified forum. It might increase the traffic beyond what the sub-forum highlighting encourages.

Thanks, and yes, I really think it should work good. I really miss such kind of feature.

If not GOG so maybe there is some way to do that in a way of some additional browser plugin? I am not a coder myself, but I've seen some scripts working with GOG that maybe it could be doable also?
I like all these ideas, so long as they are optional.

More options is damn near almost always better.
